How awful

Here’s the thing:
We can offer our sympathy to the family on the loss of their loved one.
But…
1) What was a 13 year old doing on the street at that time of night?
2) Why did he have a weapon of any kind on him, lethal or otherwise?
3) Why did he not cooperate with the officers?
4) Where was this kid’s father?
We live in a nation in which police have a monopoly on violence. Under broad circumstances they are authorized to kill you. Don’t (bleep) around with them. As one attorney said quite wisely “do not talk to the police” while another said “you can beat the rap but you can’t beat the ride”.

I’m upset at the idiot kid and his awful parents.
And their kids’ idiocy is going to put these officers through the ringer now.

Police stopped them because they matched some armed robbery suspects. When the police tried to search them then this boy ran and then pulled out the gun and pointed it at the police.
The boy got what was coming to him. sometimes Stupid does hurt. The same kid was mostly likely an armed robber to boot.

🤔 Hmmmm point a pellet gun that is a perfect replica of a real semi automatic pistol at police and people are shocked and outraged that police respond exactly as they would if it was a real gun and a criminal doesn’t follow their commands. Now these police officers have to carry the guilt and pain of killing a child.

Those cops should be gone at 3am. Every cop needs an escape plan these days. And you get a 48 hour window normally.

Are you kidding me? Have you seen what pellet guns look like nowadays? Cops don’t have two seconds to assess a situation let alone what kind of gun is being used at 10:20 at night. What’s the 10 year old kid doing out that late? Where are his parents? Why was he pointing a gun at police officers? Why would anybody point a gun at police officers and not expect to get their brains blown out? All good questions except for leftists. It’s sad only because the cops had to shoot someone who was asking for it.

Pellet guns are supposed to display a strip of bright orange tape, for exactly this reason.

Gama makes a CO2 powered pellet gun that could deliver a fatal shot if it hits you in the chest or throat. Why not stop when ordered to by police? Why pull out a pistol, pellet or not, and aimmit at the police. I wonder what he expected then to do when he pulled it out?

While it's legal in NY State for a 16 year old to own a pellet gun, "to legally posses a pellet gun in New York, you must obtain the appropriate licenses and follow all applicable firearm regulations. This includes meeting age requirements, completing background checks, and registering the weapon if required by law. Failure to comply with these regulations can result in serious legal consequences."
The article doesn't say anything if the kid was legally in possession of the pellet gun.
Bottom line, you don't walk around at night when you are 16, carrying or flashing a pellet gun that resembles a Glock.
