Here’s the thing:
We can offer our sympathy to the family on the loss of their loved one.
But…
1) What was a 13 year old doing on the street at that time of night?
2) Why did he have a weapon of any kind on him, lethal or otherwise?
3) Why did he not cooperate with the officers?
4) Where was this kid’s father?
We live in a nation in which police have a monopoly on violence. Under broad circumstances they are authorized to kill you. Don’t (bleep) around with them. As one attorney said quite wisely “do not talk to the police” while another said “you can beat the rap but you can’t beat the ride”.
Pellet guns can kill. Some of them produce the energy of a .22.
