A friend of mine told me of divers near the Fulton IL lock seeing 5 and 6 foot catfish.

That is what I thought:
Catfishing refers to the creation of a fictitious online persona, or fake identity (typically on social networking platforms), with the intent of deception, usually to mislead a victim into an online romantic relationship or to commit financial fraud.
Perpetrators, usually referred to as catfish, generally use fake photos and lie about their personal lives to present themselves as more attractive for financial gain, personal satisfaction, evasion of legal consequences, or to troll.
If you all are travelling this summer, the best catfish in the country can be found along I-20 in Northern LA, Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia.

Baked Lemon Butter Flounder / 4 servings
For lemon lovers. Can use any mild white fleshed fish. Pairs well with steamed broccoli.
Ing--4 tbl melted unsalted butter, 3 tbl fresh lemon juice Zested lemon (about 1 tbl) 1 tbl fresh minced garlic ¼ teaspoon dried dill 5-4 oz flounder fillets Ks/p 1 small lemon, thinly sliced
Steps--Spray large baker or rimmed sheetpan. Rinse fillets; pat dry. Place in baker; ks/p. Drizzle w/ combined melted butter, lemon juice/zest, garlic and dill. Top with lemon slices. Bake 425 deg 10-11 min, then broil on high 3-4 min. Done when it flakes easily w/ fork. Sprinkle w/ fresh chopped parsley.

My paternal great grandfather died from barb stick infection gained while spooning for them in a Kentucky river. Happened in late 1890’s...imagine medical care in those days.
That’s one southern dish that I’m not crazy about. Catfish and chitlins on my don’t eat ever again list.
