Originally, Ford had said in 2021 that it would start production in 2025.
Full production at a Ford EV factory in west Tennessee that was to deliver the company’s F150 Lightning electric pickup truck is being delayed.
State Sen. Page Walley, a Republican, told the "Tennessee Outlook" full production of the vehicle line was being pushed back by nine months as a result of a “read on the economy.”
Ford said in 2021 that it would start production in 2025. Now the electric pickup trucks aren’t expected to be delivered to dealerships until 2026, according to the "Outlook."
Ford lost $132,000 on each electric vehicle it sold in the first quarter of this year, and according to reports, the company cut orders from its battery suppliers as production plans are scaled back.

That’s a hell of business model.
They oughta be ashamed of themselves for putting the Mustang badge on that turd.
That’s a crappy looking Mustang. Shame, shame.
I call it the MOCKY...................
Electric pickups just sound too much like tofu-infused steak.
Easy.
Hook two trucks up to two identical trailers.
One is a fully charged lectric.
The other is a fully gassed IC.
See how fast they can get from Denver to Reno.
They (auto makers) are stuck in the middle.
Government - Do what we want or else we end you
Consumer - Build what we want or we will buy it from someone else and end you.
they can’t win.
“Temporarily postponed, until the 12th of Never!”
Who in their right mind would want one of these crappy vehicles? Even with the taxpayers being forced to subsidize this greenie madness, they are not worth the money. I hope they have tens of thousands unsaleable. LOL.. More popcorn!
They can win...by standing up to the current tyranny. Where is their patriotism? Maybe they are too DEI/woke. Too bad. They will go the way of the majority of vehicle manufacturers. Bye Bye.
You can’t forget the ire of Greta Von Thunderpants
I have a Ford Lightning. Best vehicle I have ever owned. Yes Ford is losing money on it. It is new tech. Tesla was losing money when they started out building ev’s. Batteries will get better and cheaper. Charging will become faster. The only problem is will there be enough electricity in 10 years?
It’s OK, they’ll make it up in volume.
How much $$$ is senile Joe giving Ford to push this failed experiment?
I’m against this.
The only problem is will there be enough electricity in 10 years?”
News flash: that’s not the only problem. In fact, that may not be in the top 10.
Delayed until never would be the most sensible option
I call it a pizza chit
“I believe the F150 is the number 1 selling PU, so I guess it makes sense to focus on something else rather than your bread and butter and Golden Goose.”
The govt requires auto manufacturers to focus on meeting the required overall emission levels and average gas mileage numbers first. After they cover that they can try to keep themselves in business somehow.
In other news, a low mileage one-owner (family relation) 2016 F150 fell into my lap awhile back, it sure is nice!
Exactly what happened at the universities. Those sky-high tuitions are paying all the multimillion dollar value professor/administrator pensions.
