While excavating a cemetery for medieval knights in Spain, archaeologists came across something unexpected: the remains of a woman. Pierced by sharp objects, her bones suggest she fought and died in battle, likely over 800 years ago.
The discovery prompted a flurry of questions about her role in the male-dominated society. Who was she? Why was she buried there? Did she fight alongside the knights?
By analyzing her skeleton, archaeologists shed light on her diet, lifestyle and status, allowing them to venture several hypotheses about her identity, according to a study published May 14 in the journal Scientific Reports.

The girl from Scandal?
feh...
Shooting at the walls of heartache... bang... bang.
Anyone else like me totally done with this fictitious boss-girl warrior crap? These idiot bitches have watched too many Black Widow movies and have confused Hollywood with reality. I always tell these Xena Warrior Princess wannabes that everyone has a plan until they get punched in the nose. I follow up with the wisdom that a punch from a man is a whole other world from whatever slap-and-tickle fights they have been in, if any.
If there an invasion, everyone is a soldier.
Having been “pierced by sharp objects” does not necessarily make her a “deadly warrior”, or even a combatant.
She was stabbed to death. Therefore she was a warrior.
Of perhaps someone has an agenda.

female warrior maybe
Not just a warrior, a “deadly warrior” which makes her sound exception among warriors.
Her skeleton identified her as female? Everybody in the 21st century knows that is archaic thinking.
They found a tag with her pronouns?

My God, I was done with it 30 or 40 years ago. CGI has made it 1,000 times worse. Now waif-like girls toss around 300 pound men like tissues on the wind. I’m so tired of suspending disbelief on that crap.
That’s why I’m mainly watching movies from the 30s to 1960 and old TV shows. I’m really enjoying “Death Valley Days” right now.
She was probably murdered and put in the same cemeteries as the warriors to hide the crime. Or, she protested the killing of her warrior husband/lover, and killed as an example to others that might be thinking the same way as her.
A five-foot warrior woman is a ridiculous assumption.
"All you They/Thems -- you're the first to go up those cliffs!"
"Yes, Sarge"

The fact she was pierced like a pincushion doesn’t mean she was a warrior or in battle. If she was a warrior, it would imply she was less than formidable.
