Newsweek ^ | 6/4/2024 | David Brennan

Russia's new offensive into Ukraine's northeastern Kharkiv region has done what months of lobbying from President Volodymyr Zelensky could not: secured Kyiv's ability to fire advanced Western weapons at Moscow's forces within their borders.

The Russian drive into the Kharkiv border region—where fighting is ongoing some 15 miles north of Kharkiv, Ukraine's second-largest city and an important political, economic, and cultural center—has prompted Kyiv's NATO backers into a flurry of diplomatic and military activity, with the result that Ukrainian cross-border strikes are now ravaging Russian forces operating in the Belgorod region.

For Heaven’s sake Marcus, the only truth comes from Sputnik, RT, Pravda, et.al. So just STFU and get with the program here.. /sarc

BTW the Ukrainians utterly destroyed a Russian S-300/400 air defense system north of Belgorod on the 2nd, probably with a HIMARS. Geolocated footage, so no argument.

I disagree about the drones being less effective. Short term, maybe. Long term, with better software, they can deliver more explosives and more accurately on target.

The game changer would be software that would allow each to autonomously search for targets, needing just a human confirmation.

Another important thing about drones is that civilians can donate them. Constant campaigns are going on with people buying or building drones and delivering these to Ukraine.

Putin basically lost when the Muscowite forces lost the battle for Hostomel airport.

At that point, his “3 days to Kyiv” failed.

Since then, he is stuck in a stalemate war.

Ukraine just has to not be absorbed into Muscowy to “win”. Remember that Putin kept saying Ukraine was not a legitimate country.

The US taxpayer should not be paying. This should be the EU countries paying.

why? Because the defense of Ukraine ensures the defense of EU member countries

To call the parts that Putin has or had captured temporarily as Muscowite oblasts is part of your fantasies.

Do you keep having your fantasies about Putin?

Nah, Kiryandil, only Russkies like you or Ukrainians would be humiliated by the battlefield movements.

I am more interested in ensuring that Putin doesn’t get a 1938 style Munich capitulation.

If your President Putin got that, that opens the way to a wider war
