Never forget.

We’re lucky that a “Hitler” didn’t arise in this generation.

Interesting coincidence that the two most decisive battles in WWII occurred in early June ... Operation Overlord launched on 06JUN1944, and the defense of Midway concluded on 06JUN1942.

....there was also this: code named “Operation Neptune” which most folks are not even aware of.....
“The Normandy landings were the landing operations and associated airborne operations on Tuesday, 6 June 1944 of the Allied invasion of Normandy in Operation Overlord during World War II. Codenamed Operation Neptune and often referred to as D-Day, it is the largest seaborne invasion in history. The operation began the liberation of France, and the rest of Western Europe, and laid the foundations of the Allied victory on the Western Front.”

Just noticed your tagline. Congratulations. Its good to be consistent. And forewarned.

Overlord was the strategic plan; Neptune was the operational plan. Sorta like one was the filing cabinet and the other was a folder in that cabinet.
Overlord planning, for security reasons, intentionally excluded any mention of landing dates, landing locations, or troop units; a plan to manage the planning, not the fighting.

The Battle of Kursk started in July, but Operation Bagration started in June.

Interesting coincidence that the two most decisive battles in WWII occurred in early June ... Operation Overlord launched on 06JUN1944, and the defense of Midway concluded on 06JUN1942. A number of big naval battles were fought in early June, including the Battle of Jutland (May 31-June 1, 1916) and the Battle of Ushant, "the Glorious First of June" during the War of the First Coalition between England and France, in 1794.

Greatest upstaging in military history. Mark Clark expected a huge morale boost (and quite a few headlines) by taking Rome, the first Axis capital to fall. Which he did. On 4 June.

Indeed.
And the month of June is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus anyway. Down with the queer agenda.
