Interesting coincidence that the two most decisive battles in WWII occurred in early June ... Operation Overlord launched on 06JUN1944, and the defense of Midway concluded on 06JUN1942. A number of big naval battles were fought in early June, including the Battle of Jutland (May 31-June 1, 1916) and the Battle of Ushant, "the Glorious First of June" during the War of the First Coalition between England and France, in 1794.
