Legendary coach John Madden had a statue of himself unveiled today in front of Bruno's Market and Deli in Carmel-by-the-Sea.
Organizers say it will serve as a lasting tribute to the iconic coach and broadcaster who would frequently visit the deli while he lived in Carmel.
The project took nearly a year to complete.

Bill Walsh had a house on the water in nearby Pacific Grove.

Did he rise from the dead to check it out?

Nice likeness from what i could see and nice tribute—I wonder if they had a sandwich named after him too?

I like it. Looks like John kicking back on the porch and making a point. A good point, as usual.

Having spent time in Carmel, I can safely say that it is the most un-Maddenlike place on planet earth.

Thanks for that. Great commercials. I remember them well.

No offense to Madden but it’s a sad day when statues of entertainers are raised while historical heroes are torn down with the same applause!

Probably AI crap.
I saw a site today comparing “Protestor” vs “Protester.” It must have taken 5,000 words of Harris Babble to say “they are both acceptable.” The AI bots must be paid by the word

Carmel-By-the-Sea is a city in California about 1/3rd of the way between San Fran and L.A. (for those who know nothing about these places)
