U.S. hands over $110m base to Niger junta to release 1,000 U.S. Army hostages, watches helplessly as base goes to Russia

Another preventable Afghanistan-pullout-like failure, because that's what Joe Biden does.

oe Biden is a lucky bungler.

With no Fox News cameras around and nobody paying much attention to what was going on in Niger, a disgraceful, utterly humiliating exit of the U.S. military from that benighted country now led by a military junta, has dealt the U.S. another strategic blow, and entirely preventably. The crummy little tinpot junta now running Niger has managed to kick Uncle Sam around, much as the Taliban and Iran did, creating an accumulating pattern of lost U.S. influence. And sure enough, they got us good, because Joe Biden let them.

According to the New York Times:

More than 1,000 American military personnel will leave Niger in the coming months, Biden administration officials said on Friday, upending U.S. counterterrorism and security policy in the tumultuous Sahel region of Africa.

In the second of two meetings this week in Washington, Deputy Secretary of State Kurt M. Campbell told Niger’s prime minister, Ali Lamine Zeine, that the United States disagreed with the country’s turn toward Russia for security and Iran for a possible deal on its uranium reserves, and the failure of Niger’s military government to map out a path to return to democracy, according to a senior State Department official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss diplomatic talks.

The decision was not a particular surprise. Niger said last month that it was revoking its military cooperation deal with the United States following a highly contentious set of meetings in Niger’s capital, Niamey, with a high-level American diplomatic and military delegation.

The base was a critical node in the U.S. war on al-Qaida, ISIS, and all their evil little allies operating terrorist operations from the northern African region.

The entire Global South has gone to Russia. It’s not surprising when you consider the entire Global South is or was at some point a victim of Western imperialism and or has had its government overthrown and manipulated by the CIA. Russia, even when part of the Soviet Union, never was a colonial power except in Eurasia. That’s the past, the present is just as bad for the West. The entire Global South is comprised of traditional societies. Russia is a traditional Christian society. Russia accepts these societies for what they are. The West is now engaged in its perverted globohomo crusade. The Global South countries loathe and fear pervo imperialism more than the Western economic colonialism they’ve been victimized by for the last 300 years.

I’ve often said that as the US brought down communism in Russia, Russia is going to return the favor and bring it down here.

I wonder if Ali Lamine Zeine would consider running for Republican Speaker of the House.

People didn’t believe my post yesterday because they had not heard about this on the MSM news sources. They have been covering it up because it’s a democrat administration and an election year.

I bet most Americans haven’t heard a damn word....................

Isn’t anyone asking what we were doing there in the first place? Was it to oversee the mining of uranium and production of yellowcake in Niger? Was it to get a cut of the gemstone mining in the Central African Republic? Was it to unsure the instability of the Arab-African divide in Chad? Was it in preparation for bombing desert southern Libya? Was it an effort to rename Oagadougou? Was it to give Special Forces something to do? The curious want to know why we spent $100 million for a base in the middle of nowhere in a nation that has only uranium to thank for its importance.

Can we base them out of Texas, New Mexico, or Arizona to stop the invasion there?

Well, no, since the time to ask such a question would have been before the U.S. established a base in Niger. But, look, the GAE has never felt that it needed to explain why it does any of what it does, has it? And why is that? My guess is that it's because, for some decades now, the American people have never bothered to demand any such explanations.

But, hey, that's "representative democracy" for you. It's a little late to complain now, I think. All we can do now is sit back, bring out the popcorn, and watch the GAE sh*t show disintegrate. I'm just glad that our guys are getting out of that sub-Saharan Third World hell-hole.

That’s still not much of a base. More like a temporary LZ. I’ve been around a few of them in my day. CONEX’s, tents with the most expensive part being a short asphalt runway. Few materials are lost if abandoned or overrun.

Biteme is full of eff ups and keeps doling them out.

What a total pos. 50 years as elected official and not once has he been on the right side. Don’t expect this shuffling mindless pile of cow dung to do the right thing.

The entire Global South has gone to Russia.

More like it is being taken over by China. China's colonialism is, in some ways, worse than Western Colonialism, which was, at least, tempered by Christianity.

Pax Americana has been enormously beneficial for the entire world, and the USA.

Russia, China, Iran, and others are trying to destroy Pax Americana. If they succeed, nearly all nations will be far worse off than they have been.

I guess DEMANDING Gay Marriage and Grooming, along with Flying the Gay Flag, was just a bit too much for Niger.

But they’ll have better luck with Russia being their friend, as Russia’s not into that crap.

I don't know. I was kinda impressed when he swam over to Iraq to get his son, Beau, whose lungs had been blown out by a 9mm.

...because, for some decades now, the American people have never bothered to demand any such explanations.
But, hey, that's "representative democracy" for you.

Well, that was not how it was envisioned or intended, but certainly how it has evolved.

Blaming the American people for not managing their political representatives in essence on a daily basis is a bit too much. One typically finds many effective management levels between a Board of Directors and the labor force in the field or on the production line.

Not so in politics, of course, especially where the Board is often split down the middle with different goals.
