Pittsburgh City Council
Local animal activists applauded Pittsburgh City Council for banning foie gras, a controversial delicacy produced by force-feeding ducks and geese until their livers become fatty and diseased. In what one Humane Action Pittsburgh press release describes as a "groundbreaking move toward animal welfare and ethical consumption," the City Council passed, by a vote of 7-2, a bill to "ban the production and sale of foie gras within city limits." Restrictions on foie gras have already been placed in numerous countries around the world, including Australia, Germany, India, the United Kingdom, and Turkey, as well as in various U.S. states and cities.

Mine’s bigger.
The only time in my life when I could afford to eat foie gras was when a little can of it was in every box of French Army rations.
I think of the things that I want government to do:
Courts
Post Office
Roads
After that, I start struggling, thinking of legitimate things for government to do.
But we’re stuck with government that want to ban foie gras and also do a million other things.

But yet these same freaks eat vegetables that are force fed sunshine and warmth in hothouses to grow in unnatural environments all year long- I say we ban the unethical force growth of vegetables!
I doubt it.
They passed the same law in California. I’m pretty sure the Federal court overturned it. Interstate commerce. It’s a USDA matter.
With the Courts today, I would not be so sure.
They should make foie gras out of the morbidly obese consumers of MacDonalds.
I’m sure there’s an never ending supply of fatty livers and the best part, they volunteered to enforce themselves.
Just have to disguise them as the *Green and human(e)) alternative and put on the plates of the super wealthy eco nuts like Leonardo DeCaprio or Al Gore.
Foie gras or Mardi gras...Mind your own dang liver and I’ll mind mine. Why is this an issue for government?!
SHHH, don’t tell anybody but I have Foie gras in my freezer that I will be enjoying soon.
