I’ve gotta look up that cicada recipe I’ve heard so much about.
Cicadas with Nutella on top. Yum!
BTW. aren’t they related to that creature from “Jeepers Creepers”?
"Cicadas choose to burst aboveground when the soil temperature hits a certain point – usually around 64F (17C) – and global heating, caused by the burning of fossil fuels, is potentially scrambling this natural process. “This could mess with their phenology. If they come out earlier than usual, that can be problematic for them,” said Dana."
OK. Everyone! please use your air conditioners outdoors this year!
I follow a lot of Christian channels and sites, and not one person has said it’s the sign. So far, you’re the only one.

We need a change of government in Springfield, Illinois. Maybe they’ll take over the Capitol. Couldn’t do any worse…. might be an improvement.
I have seen a flock of Robins swarm on a grove of trees and they proceeded to snap up every cicada they could find. It was a feeding frenzy .
That will be something to see!
Panic Porn:
Classical lit flashback:
The two sages, Ucalegon and Antenor, elders of the people, were seated by the Scaean gates, with Priam, Panthoos, Thymoetes, Lampos, Klytios, and Hiketaon of the race of Ares. These were too old to fight, but they were fluent orators, and sat on the tower like cicadas that chirrup delicately from the boughs of some high tree in a wood. When they saw Helen coming towards the tower, they said softly to one another, "No wonder the Trojans and Achaeans endure so much and so long, for the sake of a woman so marvelously and divinely lovely. There is no sense of nemesis here. Still, fair though she be, let them take her and go, or she will breed sorrow for us and for our children after us."-The Iliad of Homer, tr. Samuel Butler, 1898
Coincidence?
