The runaway inflation raging under Joe Biden’s failed presidency has gotten so bad that some Americans are being priced out of eating at McDonald’s.
Exacerbating the situation in California is the new $20-an-hour minimum wage, which has forced many fast food chains — once considered an affordable meal option — to anger customers by hiking prices.
This is the second time in three months the Golden State has raised its minimum wage. In January, the state increased the minimum wage to $16 an hour from $11.
A TikTok user lamented that she had paid more than $25 for a 40-piece Chicken McNugget meal, which included two large fries but no soda.
McDonald’s meal deals have historically come with a drink and fries.

“Popcorn time”
Sadly, the CA government is immune from consequences. CA is a one party state, so the communist Dems are safe. If what the Dems do causes the CA economy to collapse, the feds, (taxpayers), will bail them out.
And soda is their big money maker since it’s so cheap to make. A gallon of syrup and carbonated water.
Fill the cup at least half way with ice and it goes even further.
I remember how filling the 20-piece was back in the day. We have become such gluttons!
California is basically a North American Venezuela. As bad as the Federal government is under Biden and his handlers, the fact that California is part of the Union is all that prevents it from becoming a full bore police state and formally aligning with China and Russia
The complaint here seems to be twofold: (1) $25 for 40 McNuggets and 2 large fries; (2) the lack of an included beverage.
Asa McD customer, I see a couple flaws in the logic here...
(1) The 10 piece McNugget order has long run $4.99, so at that rate 40 McNuggets would be $19.96. Two large fries for $5.04? Not terrible. This isn’t a great “deal,” but it’s not out of line as per McDonald’s regular pricing.
(2) You want a soda too? Unless you’re Chris Christie, 40 McNuggets and 2 large fries isn’t an individual “meal.” This is a “family pack” for like 6 people. Throwing in 1 soda for a half-dozen people to share would be silly.
” ... the fact that California is part of the Union is all that prevents it from becoming a full bore police state and formally aligning with China and Russia”
Not to worry, CA and the escapees from that ****hole are dragging the nation far left. It’s only a matter of time before we are a vassal state to China.
They need to raise the minimum wage again so people can afford to eat at McDonald’s. Rinse and repeat.
EC
Or the old stand by a Pepsi and a bag of peanuts.
If they use the McDonald’s rewards app, it’s going to be a lot cheaper. I use it all the time and get free nuggets or cheeseburgers/McChicken sandwiches. Free beverage’s too.
“$25 for a 40-piece Chicken McNugget meal...”
Is that even chicken?
Parts is Parts!
How long until McDonalds issues their own credit card so folks can enjoy fast food?
Wonder what an Egg McMuffin, hash browns and a small coffee is gonna cost?
It is very enjoyable watching leftists having to live with the impacts of their stupid politics.
Well 40 pieces McNuggets and two fries was NEVER cheap.. The price of a 40 piece McNugget alone where I live $15.50 plus tax, and Fries are about 3.50 each for a medium... so
that’s 19.00 plus tax for that here in PA... there is no Meal Option, so meal might knock a buck or two off of it if they offered that.
Honestly would expect a 40 piece with 2 fries to be around $25 in California even before the age hike. I lived in the bay area back in 2000/2001 and the prices differential vs PA was easily 50% or more.. So, while I have no doubt prices have risen from the $20 an hour min wage, I am hard pressed to believe that this 40 piece meal deal was much less that $25 before the pay hikes.
Come on people. This was going on before the wage went up. Blame Biden. If we can gain from it politically then sure, run with it. Newsom is tied to Biden.
$25.00? Wow! You can go to a real restaurant and have a great lunch for that ... AND get better service!
