Sometimes there are articles and comments that these buildings and commercial properties will be sold for 10 cents on the dollar. My response is, who would want to purchase anything in that area. What retailer or service would try to set up a business where the homeless and drug addicts own the town?
So now you can force an entity to do business? Is there nothing the state cannot do?

Luckily we have a really nice mall in my town where civilized people shop. But at least a third of the stores are empty so it’s likely to be dead before I am.

Where have you been? Many, many years ago the ‘state’ started telling businesses who to hire and who cannot be fired! That was in the 60s/70s as a result of crooked lbj signing the civil rights act.
