The dietary restrictions during Lent are man-made. The gyrations some are going through to define meat are indicative of that.
Additionally, and most importantly, there are no biblical restrictions on what you can eat during Lent.
And Lent is a man-made event while we're at it. If one feels led to participate one can but it is not an obligation.

I used to work with a good Catholic who gave up the same things for Lent every year - cheese and watermelon. He couldn’t stand either one.
