Alcohol consumption and deaths also went up during that time, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
A new report by the CDC found that there were roughly 488 deaths per day during the pandemic due to excessive alcohol drinking in 2020-2021.
“Stress, loneliness, and social isolation; and mental health conditions might also have contributed to the increase in deaths from excessive alcohol use during the Covid-19 pandemic,”
During 2016 and 2017, there were 137,927 alcohol-related deaths nationally. For 2020 and 2021, that number climbed to 178,307, according to the report.
Excessive alcohol consumption-related deaths went up by 35% amongst women during those two time periods. In comparison, for men, there was an increase of 27% in deaths over the same time period.

That explains why, as a VA guy shipped to Vanderbilt's hospital for specialized surgery, I saw the hallways lined with gurneys of ailing people. They were funneled from Nashville General and others while the money trough was open. At least I learned my immune system deflects Covid after several of those patients coughed it right at me.
As were all the weed stores.
But you couldn't buy varnish because it was too dangerous.

they set the standard for a positive covid test so low that almost all “had” it per their rigged system.....the test was never adminstered like they would for flu....

Today is Texas Independence Day, and the Cab came from land once owned by COL William Travis. The brisket was great, too.
I was never tempted by alcohol except during the COVID lockdowns.
I’m not an extrovert. I force myself to reach out to people.
I’m not a tea-totaler but alcohol was never an important part of my life either. I could have a drink (or a few) on a special occasion and then not even think about alcohol for literally years.
But during the lockdowns I found myself drinking alone just to feel better. Terrible. I was on my way to alcoholism.
Currently, I’m not having any issues, but I learned something about myself during that time.
Being connected to people is the opposite of addiction.
