Here is the follow up link you posted.

The Power of Prayer in Evangelism

After our son had left home and set out on his own, he visited Mardi Gras in New Orleans with friends. He had been struggling with substance abuse, and my wife, Cari, and I worried about the trip and choices he might make. We prayed for him constantly.

The first night he was there, our phone rang. His number popped up on the caller ID. Our worst fears rushed in. Was he in trouble? Had something happened to him? But when we answered the phone, his voice was clear and cheerful. “Dad,” he said, “the coolest thing just happened. We were walking through the French Quarter and came to one corner where some religious people were holding up signs and shouting at us. We kept on walking. Then we got to the next corner when another group from a church came up to us. They were really nice. They welcomed us and asked if there was anything they could pray for us about. Then we prayed together right there on the street. It was pretty cool. I thought you might like to know.”

Although it would be two years before God set our son free from drug addiction, that night marked a special moment for Cari and me. We caught a glimpse of the power of God to move in our son’s heart and were reminded of something the prophet Isaiah wrote: “Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear” (isaiah 59:1). Even when our son was on a prodigal path in “a far country” (luke 15:13 nkjv), through our prayers, God mercifully met him there in the kindness of others.

Georgia as a state has a lot to offer residents and tourists but is blemished with election fraud, corrupt justice system, and now instances like this..

Squatters are breaking law but rewarded

I know there are several GA folks in Trump MAGA Train. Know it’s frustrating. My NC has its share of frustrations also

<>

NEW: Police arrested 77-year-old man who refused to leave his home after someone stole it from him and his wife in a case of fraud in DeKalb County, GA

The man’s wife said that they they’ve lived in the home for more than 20 years just to find all their belongings in the front yard.

The man who moved in used fraudulent documents to take over the property. To make matters worse, the elderly home owner was arrested for refusing to leave.

Our law and justice system is beyond broken.

This is from an Argentina expat forum.

The thread is about the cost of goods increasing

"Not sure how much this is Milei related. I believe that those makers/factories that were bound by “precios cuidad” may be going too much in the opposite direction to compensate their lost income of past years.

I cook a lot of rice and I bought last 1 kg bag by Molinos Alas for $800 about 3 weeks ago. Today I went shopping on ML and the cheapest rice was $1150/kg. Imported rice, such as basmati or carnaroli, are hugely expensive (over 10 usd per kg).

At El Portogues the kilo of long white rice was $1200, which is the same as at the Pakistani deli two blocks from here. This time I bough Yin Yun brand for $1200 per kg, but next to it a kg of Los dos hermanos was $3200. 🙀🙀🙀

Serafina’s cat pouch on Rappi jumped from 870 to 1500 pesos overnight. It is imported from Brazil and has been out of stock in many places. I am transitioning her toward a local brand called Wild Cat, but they only have three fish flavors which sound about the same.

Before Xmas I went to buy an artisanal panettone at Artiaga’s. It won the first place in the foreign panettone category at the panettone World Cup 2023 in Milan (which is where I come from).

For a staggering $14900 for half a kilo!!

Lo and behold, today it is sold for $15900. A 1 dollar increase in three days. Keep in mind that it is a seasonal product, so the excuse that the price had not been updated on a while doesn’t hold."

I was going to forget Argentina and keep looking until I realized "$800" meant 800 Argentinian pesos! So 2.2 lb rice is one US dollar, half of what it costs me at Aldi. The panettone sounds pricey, but I'm glad it's available.

Skiing and snowboarding accidents on California slopes are surging

https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/4226302/posts

That number of ER visits is up 50% from 2016 through 2022, the Los Angeles Times reports. However, during that same period, the number of skiers and snowboarders hitting the slopes remained mostly the same in California.

“It’s a wonderful sport, but if you ask me, I notice a bit of a difference in courtesy,” said Joann Shimizu Wood, a Southern California resident who has been skiing since 1976. “We used to say, as we were coming downhill to whoever was downhill from us, ‘On your right! On your left!’ as we’re passing them.”

Wood said she now hardly ever hears that verbal cue or courtesy despite skiers and snowboarders barreling down the slopes, many of whom may be less experienced or capable.

Reckless behavior was made worse by skiers using marijuana, magic mushrooms or getting drunk before hitting the slopes, locals said.

“You’re sitting on the lift and it smells like a skunk up here,” skier James Travers said of smelling weed. “It should smell like pine trees.”

Another major contributor involves people so focused on taking selfies or capturing videos for their social media page that they become unaware of who or what is going on around them.

CNN facing identity crisis after firings, low ratings – and new talent not a priority: ‘Don’t have the money’

https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/4226301/posts

Former CNN CEO Chris Licht was spotted during Oscars week seemingly without a care in the world at the San Vicente Bungalows, Hollywood’s starriest private club.

The ousted news exec was seen solo in the corner of the Los Angeles club’s private open air library, texting away on his phone with his feet up.

Maybe Licht’s had the last laugh after all?

The self-proclaimed “most trusted name in news” is fighting an uphill battle to remain relevant two years after Discovery took it over, sources tell us.

Anderson Cooper remains as the network’s only primetime star after CNN axed Chris Cuomo, and moved Don Lemon to mornings — only to then fire him last year under Licht’s watch, before Licht was shown the door.

Insiders at the network today feel talent has become an afterthought, after former New York Times and BBC honcho Mark Thompson took the helm in October, following Licht’s catastrophic 13-month stint as its leader.

In an effort to boost ratings, presumably, CNN oddly invited fired Lemon back to promote his interview with Elon Musk.

Spunky I laughed so hard when you posted that

We still need to get our house on an island or secluded neat place…but where?

Seems like squatting is the way to go for home selection.

many abandoned places or multi homes rarely used, owned by people.

We need a big one with many bedrooms and adjoining bathrooms and A BIG KITCHEN👍 Of course big garden, greenhouse, root cellar, art room, music/media room.

Whoever was behind this attack in Moscow likely did not intend for the attackers to be captured alive

And now they’re going to give up a lot

Let’s just say Russian interrogators have a slightly different set of rules than ours

Norsky when I took my real estate course in late 70s I was shocked to learn about squatting. I had never heard of it

Now the illegal invaders find this a great way to access living quarters

So much is wrong with our country any more

Your seriously comparing Candace Owens to Rush Limbaugh?

I don’t think Rush was a Jew hater. And if he had been he wouldn’t have been “outspoken” about it.

CO isn’t that smart. She’s good at knee-jerk retorts, but if she were a deep thinker she’d say different things.
