Wendy Williams’ son, Kevin Hunter Jr., offered more insight into his mother’s frontotemporal dementia diagnosis in an interview from the Lifetime documentary Where Is Wendy Williams?
“[Doctors] basically said that because she was drinking so much, it was starting to affect her headspace and her brain,” Kevin, 23, explained during the Sunday, February 25, episode of the two-part series. “So, I think they said it was alcohol-induced dementia.”
Alcohol-related dementia, according to Healthline, is a “type of cognitive impairment that occurs as a result of heavy alcohol consumption over a long period.” Over time, alcohol use can cause brain damage that affects a person’s ability to do daily tasks, such as cooking and managing their finances, per the website.
The symptoms of ARD and age-related dementia are similar, and include problems with memory, concentration and emotional control.

More to it than just alcohol.
Bkmk
More to it than just alcohol. They are minimalizing the problem IMHO.
Alcohol is a neurotoxin. Depending on dose it will damage your brain, some more than others.
I have no idea who this woman is. I’ve been mostly ignoring the fake media for 25 years at this point, so anyone 2nd tier at all, I know little about.
One reason Trump is so sharp even nearing 80 is he is a teetotaller. No alcohol whatsever. Although stress has been taking a toll on him lately.
My ex died of this. It’s Wernicke encephalopathy, aka wet brain. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wernicke_encephalopathy
The only Wendy Williams I’m familiar with is ‘Wendy Williams and the Plasmatics’.
Nothing like airing out family issues in public.
My mother just passed away two weeks ago at 95 years of age.
She passed from Congestive Heart Failure that she had for several years or so. But she had the cognitive functions of a 60 year old. She did crosswords and soduko constantly, wrote short stories for publication and was quite whitty - right up to the end.
But she drank like a fish - for as long as I have been alive. I never saw her in the afternoons (ever) without a bourbon and Coke. She would do 5-6 a day. With about a shot and a half in each one. But I never saw her “drunk”. Never tipping over, never slurring her words.
So I don’t buy the perspective that drinking has a direct causal link to dementia.
Not necessarily.
We used to call it “wet brain” back in the 80’s and I was in the recovery business. Alcohol affects the brain and sustained alcoholism can leave someone with few functioning brain cells.
The other s—t didn’t help, but alcohol induced dementia is a real thing.
Same one?
That's Wendy O. Williams.
'No Class' performed by Wendy O. Williams and Motörhead:

I don't always listen to Motörhead but when I do, my neighbors do too.
So sorry for your loss
I never heard of her. I know less and could care even less than that about today’s pop culture.
High tolerance like Winston Churchill.
Understood. Wouldn’t one have to drink from morning until night to get the wet brain? Thanks
Hmmmmmmmmm??? So that means, Hillary.......
