From the very beginning, the Moscow Metro was designed as an instrument of propaganda as well as transportation. Its grandiose stations were not only a projection of the power of the regime but also designed as a promise of sorts, a glimpse for the Soviet people of the heaven on earth that communism would (one day) deliver. It was perhaps thus appropriate that some of its marble was said (probably accurately) to have come from the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, which had been blown up on Stalin’s orders just a year or two before work on the metro began (the cathedral was rebuilt in the Yeltsin years). And, of course, the metro was used to impress foreigners too. Judging by Tucker Carlson’s comments in a recent video, it still does:
We’re standing in front of the Kievskaya Metro station, in this train station next to it. Now, the metro station was built by Joseph Stalin 70 years ago. And the question is, how is it doing now after 70 years? So we went into it to take a look, and what we found shocked us. Now, that’s not an endorsement of Stalin, who was bad, obviously, nor is it an endorsement of the current president, Vladimir Putin. You may not like him either, but it doesn’t change the reality of what we saw or precisely didn’t see. There’s no graffiti, there’s no filth, no foul smells. There are no bums or drug addicts or rapists or people waiting to push you onto the train tracks and kill you. No, it’s perfectly clean and orderly.
And how do you explain that? We’re not even going to guess. That’s not our job. We’re only going to ask the question . . .

You need to have a sense of personal responsibility, which is discouraged by democrats and our "education" system.
Where would a normal person feel safer...the Moscow Metro or the NYC Subway System?
Also a people who are oppressed and can be disappeared at anytime are a lot more well behaved…

Very true - there hasn’t been a conservative protest in DC since Jan 6th, 2021, OVER 3 YEARS, despite plenty to be angry about regarding Biden, the Democrats, and even the Republicans.
It’s called living in a civilized society.
Ever seen the videos of Japanese very orderly leaving and getting onto a train?
It’s the way people behave (or don’t).
The United States wasn’t always the way it is now as many of you remember.
Anyone that thinks Russia is the equivalent of North Korea is guilty shameful ignorance.
Russia is more the equivalent of Canada with the difference being Russia is far more conservative.
The USA is more Communist/fascist than Russia at this point, just in case you’re too dumb to notice.
FREEPER FOLLIES PINGLIST!!
(((PING!)))
Join and laugh!!
It does not matter that the subway system was designed for propoganda. Their absence of blacks and hispanics has kept it pristine and civilized. END of story. FIGHT ME ON THIS, ANYONE.
Meanwhile, American subways such as New York are places of racial violence, frequent stabbings, and robbery. The power projected by American cities is criminal by design.

Their name is mud:
Moscow was in squalor, including the subway , in the 1990s.
Of course that was the era of Western economic neo-liberal economic “experts” combining with Oligarchs to rob Russia.
Putin cleared those guys out after 1998, and things have been improving ever since. (helped by higher oil prices).
Stalin built that subway with debris from one of the many churches he dynamited.
You are a moron
As a shortwave enthusiast, one of the things I remember from the 90s, was that Radio Moscow was so desperate for money, they would allow anyone to use their facilities.
One of those groups they allowed was Aum Shinrikyo, who committed the deadly sarin attack in the Tokyo subway.
Great point.
