A Tennessee elementary school principal had tears streaming down her face as she was booked for allegedly covering up a student-teacher assault at her school.
Fabre Ford, the principal of Southwest Elementary School in Fayette County, Tennessee, was arrested after allegedly withholding information about a fourth-grade student attacking a teacher with a Stanley Cup.
According to deputies, fifth-grade social studies teacher Demetrious Bradley was left concussed after the child battered him with the large metal cup.
After Ford allegedly blocked an internal school investigation into the attack and told people not to cooperate, she was arrested and charged with tampering with or fabricating evidence in the investigation of an aggravated assault in a school. The incident unfolded on February 2, when the fourth grader was removed from his class and sent to Bradley's class because he had been 'acting out.'
When Bradley went to talk to the young student, he later told a school resource officer, Randy Collins, that the child started slapping his hands.
The student then picked up a heavy metal Stanley Cup and started beating Bradley across the face with it, striking him multiple times on the jaw.
Collins wrote in a primary report on the incident that Bradley said the Stanley Cup also caught him across the temple, which left him 'seeing stars.'
He then wrapped his arms around the student to keep him from being struck again, but slipped on water spilled from the cup and the student ran off.

I think I ‘ve got this...
It was the 4th grader in Mr Bradley’s class with the Stanley Cup.
“A Stanley brand thermal cup that is all the rage nowadays................”
How heavy is it?
This article does not know if the child was 4 or in the 4th grade but for a child to do that much damage with it it must have some weight.
Black supremacists covering for black criminals. It happens every day.
Looks like my high school Vice Principal.
Stanley Cup
The Stanley Cup (French: La Coupe Stanley) is the championship trophy awarded annually to the National Hockey League (NHL) playoff champion.

made of metal, could hurt. My first mind picture was thermos bottle. who uses those any more? (I do)
“4th grade would be a 10-year old.”
He could be a lot older than that.
Yes, they are made of metal and if it was full of water as the article states it can be quite heavy.
They were one of THE ‘MUST HAVE’ CHRISTMAS GIFTS this past Christmas.
Our Target sold out of them very quickly...............

Thank G_d he didn’t use the Lady Byng Trophy.
Is a principal covering up an assault at a school a singular, one-off thing or is it part of an extensive pattern of behavior across several schools - or thousands or tens of thousands - of schools nationwide. And if it is a pattern of behavior, what might be the reason(s) for such coverups, and what are the real rates of violent crimes in schools?

When I was in the business world if something had to be reported it generally was on someone’s goals and objectives to not-report or they lose something, like bonus. This led to some creative accounting in what something was. Was it an injury on the production floor? Did it really happen on the floor? Can we lose the paperwork? Can we induce someone to not report it? You have an employee with a six-inch spike sticking through his sternum, but he actually, technically, when you really get to it, died from heart failure...which is not reportable.
The stanley cup is bigger than some 4 year olds.
maybe he was a 4 th grade student that was held back for 10 years
Yeah. No matter the job. Private sector or public.
CYA
Yes, but they keep capitalizing it all….must be no true editing as they allow AutoCorrect to do their editing.
Between “Stanley Cup” and “4”, this is a poor article.
How do I know the thing they’re writing about might be some replica of the hockey trophy?
Actually, I don’t know what you mean by that.
I had various principals. And VPs. Don’t know if any of them would cry…but then would they be arrested?
9. To start. Possibly 10.
Bad writing and editing.
