Studies have shown a dog’s brain is similar to that of a human’s, and in the 1980s, Dr. Nicholas Dodman of the School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University discovered that dogs can experience the chemical and hormonal changes that bring about depression and anxiety in humans.
Unfortunately, dogs can’t talk or communicate their inner feelings with their humans, so dog owners should be on the lookout for signs their four-legged friend is suffering from depression.
How to tell if your dog is depressed Many symptoms of canine depression could also be linked to chronic pain and poor health, so if you notice your dog has multiple symptoms, call your vet to first rule out any illness or underlying medical conditions.

I already do a lot of the things they suggest just by taking care of my dog and Im home a lot plus take him with me to go places.
Vet: Hm. I see. Well I think I may be able to help you. You see ... your cat is suffering from what we Vets haven’t found a word for. His condition is typified by total physical inertia, absence of interest in its ambience - what we Vets call environment - failure to respond to the conventional external stimuli - a ball of string, a nice juicy mouse, a bird. To be blunt, your cat is in a rut. It’s the old stockbroker syndrome, the suburban fin de siecle ennui, angst, weltschmertz, call it what you will.
Mrs B: Moping.
Vet: In a way, in a way ... hum ... moping, I must remember that. Now, what’s to be done? Tell me sir, have you confused your cat recently?
Mr A: Well we ...
Mrs B: Sh! No.
Vet: Yes ... well I think I can definitely say that your cat badly needs to be confused.
Graham Chapman was brilliant in that sketch.

You should stick to archeology.
This has nothing to do with that.
It’s been documented. I’m not sure why you would doubt it just because you haven’t seen it.
I know dogs. The acquisition of food is their prime biological imperative. Anyone who says otherwise is anthropomorphizing them.
Which is why trainers use food.
Dogs can experience depression, too
At first I thought they were talking about feet
Yeah, it does, because Kinison did a bit about dog psychologists.
The thread you posted did not.
You have turned into quite the troll.
I won’t bother to check your posting history. When this kind of attack occurs, it’s nearly always a Putinista troll.
Once again you call me that.
Don’t check my history.
I have never once posted in support of Russia.
You have continuously backed Biden in the Ukraine.
If I were to guess about you?
You have sucked the government tit all your life and can’t give it up.
Like I said. Stick to archeology. You suck at everything else.
