Ear-splittingly loud busker, age ELEVEN, who raps deep into the night infuriating DC residents is linked to NHL and NBA teams' move to Virginia because CEO was so infuriated by noise from his nearby office

The billionaire owner of Washington, DC's NHL and NBA teams has decided to move their home base to Virginia seemingly due to a child's loud rapping.

Ted Leonsis announced last month that he will be moving the Washington Capitals and Washington Wizards out of its current home - Capital One Arena in downtown DC - to a newly developed arena in the DC suburb of Alexandria, Virginia.

Virginia State lawmakers have approved the funding and the plans to build an arena in the city's Potomac Yard Neighborhood, according to the Washington Post.

Despite the mayor announcing a $500 million funding for a renovation of Capital One Arena, many believe that the reason for the movie is due to the blaring loud music outside his office caused by a man and two kids.

David Halmon, his 11-year-old son J-Money and his other son have been rapping in front of the arena at ear-splitting volume, using a pair of loudspeakers and an amplifier, causing issues for residents and businesses in the area for the last seven years.

Howard Marks, who lives in a condo building in the area, told the Washington Post that he paid more than $6,000 to soundproof his unit.

Before deciding to do so, he said he and his partner 'could hardly watch TV or could hardly talk to each other without raising our voices.'

However, Halmon told the Post that 'they tried to drive us out' and that Leonsis offered him a deal 'to not be right here' but he did not agree.

In early December, the father was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine.

He was sent to jail for a couple of weeks and pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor drug-possession charge, which local described as a 'period of welcome quiet.'

I used to have neighbors like that. But now, ‘the rents too high’ and they moved out. The only benefit Biden has given me - higher rent to my neighbors, now the section 8 rif-raf can’t afford to rent homes here any more.

That was my first thought.
Find some way to put the kabash on the problem.
It wouldn’t surprise me if some self hating rich liberal has been paying that lousy thug of a father to stay put and make the wealthy neighbors more upset. Maybe he is being paid in coke. Not the soda!

Just awful.

Democrats are hell bent on destroying all civility and decency in this world.

Filth, savageness, bringing in all criminality, destroying our family fabric, child rape/exploitation and destroying God and everything that America stands for.

A neighborhood punk played his drums kitty corner to our home. I printed out the city noise ordinance and delivered an anonymous “night letter.” A week or so later there was mad particularly noisy drumming. But after that, quiet.

I confronted the same kid (young adult) about the cigarette butts he threw out of his jeep window. He always parked it at the same place. I picked them up to keep the street clean. He just kept doing it. A few months later he must have fallen asleep with a cigarette as the jeep burned up right there, and wasn’t replaced.

Thankfully that dysfunctional family isn’t there anymore.

Perfect, PERFECT example of worthless, do-nothing good gummit at a couple levels to put a simple ‘law’ into effect to limit the decibel levels in a public access area. But hey, it’s DC so maybe a good place to setup a granite crushing plant where noise isn’t an issue apparently.

"The same song 24/7? That would drive anyone nuts."

I guess that pretty much explains rappers in general...they're crazy, like their music..

I know DC is bad, but they can’t appeal to police or government AT ALL? Certainly public broadcasting like this must have daytime limits?

"We found them squatting in the mud swatting flies off of their lips. It’s abusive to force their participation in a civilization for which they are evolutionarily incapable of collectively being successful."

Whoa dude...That's harsh..! :)

It seems like the whole story is a made up controversy. Why?

The teams aren’t moving for a few more years. Sports team owners all around the nation have threatened to move (or actually move) in order to secure public funding for their arenas, and this is just one more case of that happening.

The owner complained about the noise of the street performers, but business owners do stuff like that all the time. Six thousand dollars on soundproofing is barely a drop in the bucket for a billionaire, and someone as prominent as Leonsis could easily push an ordnance through to either get the rappers to move or stop the practice on the streets entirely.

There’s a video of the kid rapping on the link though... and wow is it annoying. The kid appears to have some sort of talent, but the delivery is terrible. If he did move the sports teams out of spite for that kid, I wouldn’t blame him.

A somewhat peripheral thought generated by this piece. No Sports Arena should be paid for by taxpayers. None.

Half billion dollar bonds to build these places for the benefit of a private company? Absolutely not. If the team or teams are so great and so good for the community then they’re profitable enough to build their own damn stadiums.

My business generates tax revenue for the local community, why shouldn’t the taxpayer build me a new office?

“ for the last seven years.”

Don’t try that in a small town.

If the word "nigger" is so offensive to black people why do these talent-less 'artists' seem to use it in their recordings every chance possible?

The only reasonable conclusion is that the word "nigger" is NOT terribly offensive to them. They're lying about it, for political and social gain.

Why do you find facts harsh? Indeed the Africans discovered by civilization were horrific savages 50,000 years behind in the prehistoric past. They have not even come close to evolving to the level of Western civilization. Sure, the top ten percent can achieve and participate properly but beyond that, they cannot function in civilized life. When they were brought to America, that was already the end of the experiment, baked into the founding.

After much thought I determined that the rappers are reveling in their ‘victory’ over Whitey in that they can use the term freely as another word for ‘homie’ or ‘brother’ (same skin tone), while Caucasians are held to a different standard and be accused of racism and bigotry for doing so.

Very racist-think on their part - perfectly playing into the Divide Not Unify mindset Obama brought back that’s trying to erase Martin Luther King’s work and legacy.

In short: media tools for the Democrat’s play for permanent power over the sake of all that’s right and good.

There’s a church across the street who has outdoor services whenever it’s warm who do the same thing. Sometimes using a loudspeaker to just shout at people about salvation for hours during the day.

Downloaded a decibel meter and it’s frequently over 100 and up to 120.

Crazy loud and annoying.

They are wrong when their message, right or wrong, infringes on others personal spaces. Another reason why former snipers should gain employment opportunities in a post-military world: obnoxious use of amplifiers and Islamic calls to prayers from towers on American ground.

Strictly on equipment and send them a money order for the damage with a note explaining why. We’re not Democrat savages here.
