The wave of breakdowns started in December and shows no sign of stopping. This week, at least 16 people suffered burns in the city of Nizhny Novgorod when a large-bore heating pipe exploded, spouting boiling water into the street.
"They decided to freeze out Europe, but that didn't work. Then they decided to freeze their own to intimidate others,"

“Sounds like Nazi propaganda from Berlin.”
Perhaps you’d like to specify what kind of propaganda you think this is?

Zeeper shenanigans ping!
Yes, it was the Russians neglecting the utility systems in the good years.
How will they rebuild them with all the plumbers gone to graveyards everywhere?
And minus the fat energy sales to Europe?
Sales to China and India are not profitable, perhaps sufficient to keep the wells flowing. Turning them off is a very bad idea.
And Tokyo Rose was totally framed by the great and glorious FBI
“More than 20 years after the trial, two witnesses confessed to a Chicago Tribune reporter that they lied on the stand and had been pressured by the government to do so, according to Wollenberg.”
“With pressure mounting on President Harry S. Truman’s administration amid accusations that he was “soft on traitors,” federal prosecutors reopened the case and brought Toguri to the U.S. to stand trial, according to Charles Wollenberg, a history professor at Berkeley City College.
Because the government lacked hard evidence, it relied heavily on witness testimony during the trial. Among the few recordings and transcripts of Toguri’s broadcasts, “none showed her doing more than being a disc jockey introducing American popular music and telling corny jokes,”
In 1977, President Gerald Ford pardoned Toguri
“please focus on Americans who need help.”
Jon, your post is an example of a propaganda technique called ‘Whataboutism’.

If you’d like to post a topic about Americans who need help then do so. But this is not that topic.
.
America is in deep trouble, and many find constructive criticism helpful.
This recent US artic blast has been attributed as the cause of 15 deaths here. And, yes, WE don’t like it.
The Red-Yellow-Green coalition is in political trouble in the moment, to be sure. One also notes that Deutsche Welle is "a German public, state-owned international broadcaster funded by the German federal tax budget." So it does have political inputs to be sure.
As one considers Germany, one finds good reason for "look over there" sorts of news:
European Power Prices Reach Records as Industry Starts to Buckle Bloomberg, 16 August 2022Whatever the outcome of the Ukraine-Russia war, and whatever the outcome of Russia's economic experiences, it is assured per the above that Germany is paying more by far than they did for energy, and this is having its effects in the nation, as with its EU partners. The Greens -- and Habeck in particular -- seem consistently tone deaf to the average German. Ergo the farmers' protests of these last days.German industry to pay 40% more for energy than pre-crisis Reuters, 30 January 2023
German electricity generation still stunted despite lower prices Reuters, 5 July 2023

And I just checked. Where we loved for decades will be under freezing throughout much of the next week. So thinking one's self better off because someone else is worse of pays some sort of dividend.
—”Russia’s home heating systems must run on eggs.”
I was thinking that if they had some eggs they could boil them in the streets of boiling water.
Steam and hot water heating systems require massive amounts of rust inhibitors and other chemicals to maintain the lines.
Each year I test and add treatment to my home heating heat floors and panels...$50.00 per quart, one quart treats 25 gallons...$$$
How many gallons are flowing down the road?
“They decided to freeze out Europe, but that didn’t work. Then they decided to freeze their own to intimidate others,”
News to me! I guess they blew up their own gas pipeline to Europe eh?
—”Because they’re about 2 more years (of democrats in charge) ahead of the U.S.”
Close but no cigar.
The Russians use district heating, which works well in NYC and many other locations.
BUT IT MUST BE MAINTAINED!
Cascading failures are a real event.
Corruption the hidden killer.
You’re right. Addressing American issues on an American forum is nd never wrong.
There are more than enough articles about Russia’s various woes out there. Too many, in my humble opinion.
America Firsters shouldn’t have to fight to have a voice here.
—”You’re appropriately named.
And proud of it.
Russians with a self-propelled dumpster fire.
I’m not surprised.
That’s how i order my heating fuel, by the truckload. It always warms me to see it coming down the road like that. And I love the smell. That gasoline smell. it smells like . . . winning.
100% correct.
Our border is being overrun with terrorists, criminals, bringing God only knows what diseases with them, and law abiding people here can’t afford food, rent, gas, etc., and you’re worried about Russia, Russia, Russia? Anybody with half-a-brain wouldn’t give a crap about the corrupt countries of Russia or Ukraine. They’d be more worried about how their government is destroying the economy of the country they are living in, by sending billions of unaccounted-for money to fund another proxy war with Russia.
Well said.
Thanks!!
