US officials warn nearly 75% of America is at risk of EARTHQUAKES after uncovering hundreds more fault lines... is YOUR area a danger zone?

Scientists have discovered that 75 percent of the US - home to hundreds of millions of Americans - is at risk of damaging earthquakes.

The US Geological Survey (USGS) released the latest National Seismic Hazard Model that included 350 newly discovered fault lines since the previous model in 2018 - bringing the total to about 1,000 faults.

The updates increased chances of disastrous earthquakes in the central and northeastern 'Atlantic Coastal corridor' that is home to Washington DC, Philadelphia, New York and Boston.

Opps, the morons used the more generic term “climate change,” not “global warming.” Same thing though.

In half a billion years from now there will be no American continent. Earth is not static. But good news is, such climactic changes occur over millions of years. Humans have been around only for 0.002% of earth’s life. And humans will be extinct in another 0.002% of Earth’s life time. Ther Sun will morph into a red giant in 5 billion more years, expanding its size and all nearby planets such as Mercury, Venus, Earth and even Mars will be gobbled by the red giant Sun.

My first earthquake experience was Saturday November 9, 1968 in the suburbs west of St. Louis. It was a 5.4 centered in Illinois. I was a high school senior and working in the garage on some project when Dad came running out of the house yelling "Earthquake! Get out!" We dashed out of the garage and watched things shake for a while.

I enjoyed it so much I moved to California five years later.

“they” keep flinging $h!t to find out what sticks. Considering how many unthinking Americans their are, a lot of it will stick.

no no climate change is causing the planet to shrink - you can now get from one place to anther much faster than 100 years ago.

Yeah, the Loma Prieta quake was nasty in several Bay Area locations. I was home preparing dinner while the pre-game for the 1989 World Series (SF Giants and Oakland A's) was just starting. Our house shook so much that the 5-gallon water bottle on our dispenser, which was 1/2 full, was knocked off the dispenser onto the floor.

A few minutes later I was outside accessing damage. Water was coming from under our neighbor's side gate next to the garage. I assumed it was a broken water line either to the house or the water heater in the garage. I opened the gate to see a river of water coming from their in-ground swimming pool. You could *see* the whole pool moving in the ground, causing the water to wash over the side.

They were lucky, though. Most of the water went around the house and out that front gate. A co-worker in another part of the South Bay wasn't so lucky. The water that came out of their in-ground swimming pool went straight for their family room sliding door and took it off its sliding hinges, allowing the water to flood the inside of their house.

The New Madrid fault is the ones I have experienced. That shake was before I was born and bigger than the ones I have been through I believe.

They may want to but it’s not true. The previous earthquakes from several years ago were from wastewater disposal wells along fault lines. Some genius thought that would be a good idea. It was stopped and the earthquakes went away. This last weekend was from natural fault lines and activity. OK has hundreds of fault lines. They were very quick to dismiss oil and gas involvement, as there is no activity anywhere close to the epicenters.

FYI, I live 4 miles from the epicenters and two of the quakes knocked pictures off of our wall. I also work for a major oil and gas company that does fracking. This was not fracking related. Just plain old fault line related earthquakes. It still sucked just the same.

I had one go off about a mile from my house... Small 1.5 or 2... It was exactly like a sonic boom. Scariest thing was it was within 1/4 mile of a huge dam holding back a million acre feet of water.

One of the nice things about moving from California is putting something on a shelf that you value, catching yourself, and then remembering that since you moved you can put it right there, and even closer to the edge if you want.
