Wise quote there. And it gave me an idea. For the 2028 election:

Beets...nice.
Somehow “love of freshly manured fields” needs to be part of his campaign vision statement.

Heaven forbid that the government should focus their hiring on people that are smart, have experience, and who are not in need of a psychiatrist. There are many disabled persons who are smart and with training could fit in to organizations. Think veterans who have lost limbs while serving in Iraq or Afghanistan. And though many of these have likely had counseling or treatment following their return to the US, hiring should be based only on merit and not hired or denied specifically because they have a disability.

I keep telling people - trains should (and will) make a come-back.
I do NOT mean spending stupid money we don’t have on new “bullet trains” but rather - simply using existing tracks and rights-of-way to run technology that exists NOW in a much more efficient (and non-government) way.
All it would take is a revision of the present absolutely bloated, book of Fed.gov laws and regulations on rail transport.

The FAA need only check the White House, FBI, DOJ, media, and Southern Poverty Law Center records for a good list of folks (kinda) fitting those needs.

Read’s like a Babylon Bee headline, but in reality the joke is on us.

I’d say they already met their quota of seriously disturbed people with the ones that thought up this recipe for disaster.

“People with severe disabilities” - many of whom are already on
disability benefits of some kind.
Because they weren’t able to work.
So the government wants to convince these people to go off their secure disability benefits…and start going to work? Many of them struggled in the first place to get benefits!
This is nonsensical.

All we need is for some mentally unbalanced flight controller having a bad day deciding to steer two fully loaded passenger jets into each other because
he/she/it/they is pissed off about something…

Thirty years of my carreer involved flying to far flung places.
Since I retired, I’ve chosed much safer forms of travel, such as riding a motorcycle without a helmet.

I have a friend who is a blind schizophrenic and is out of work. He’s always wanted to fly big airplanes. I’ll let him know.
