Discuss if he was a guru or charleton.
RIP Jack.
Jack was the original.
What do you get when you cross Jack Lalanne and Richard Simmons?
Braggs ACV is some awesome stuff.
“If it tastes good, spit it out!”
— Jack LaLanne
Some of my earliest memories as a kid was watching his exercise show in the morning.....even that young I wished he woulda lost the balarina slippers though......not a good look. 😏
As a little kid, I still remember seeing Jack on black and white TV with his chair doing all sorts of exercises.
Stay at home moms loved to watch his morning show.
I don’t think any of them actually exercised.
Watched him as a kid, he was all the rage with the stay-home Moms. They didn’t do the exercises but they watched religiously while “doing chores”. Had his wife with him on the show, IIRC.
Well, if I could go back in time and tell my dad ONE thing, it would be to look up this LaLanne fellow and do exactly what he tells you to as regards your health. Then my dad might not have had a serious stroke when I was 6 and dementia by the time I was 10 or 11.
I don’t care for the word ‘Guru’, with the religious connotations, but if a person followed what Jack was talking about, they would probably live a lot longer, and healthier, than the typical adult in the 1960’s and 1970’s.
Debbie Drake had plenty of appeal.
Lived in a way that would have been suitable punishment for a felon—
—that would have had me begging for death in weeks if not days—
—died anyway.
Sugar is the root of a lot of evil. Big Sugar fought it out decades ago with the meat industry (bacon/butter/etc). Big Sugar one, even gets its own line on nutrition panels with "added sugars".
Sugar equals inflammation, the bane of a healthy body.
Jack was the most fit human in history.
Nobody else comes close.
Have you got anything on Mitch Miller?
Met him a few times when he still lived in Hermosa Beach, he was a pretty nice guy
You can still purchase the Jack LaLanne power juicers.
Jack LaLanne is dead?

I miss him. Watched him for years as a kid. A positive influence and was always learning something.
100 pullups? 1000 situps? swim bays and channels. that little guy was super human. yes watched him on black and white tv. got me going on athletics.
My dad would say, “If you think he is faking, just keep up with him for 10 minutes. 1/2 of a show from commercial to commercial.”
Jack LaLane was the MAN! We even did some juicing. Jack LaLane was the fix to your ‘big dude kicking sand in your face’ and taking your girl on the ads in the comic books.
Priceless stuff!
