BEST album OVERALL? Physical GraffitiAn asterisk needs to be added to your choice of best album as it is a double album but I generally agree, most likely their best album.

Led Zeppelin Trivia ... The photo on the album cover for
Physical Graffiti was taken at 96 and 98 St. Mark's Place in New York City.
The Rolling Stones used the front steps of 96 St. Mark's Place to film the first part of their music video for "Waiting On A Friend."

Living Loving Maid (She’s Just A Woman) is in my top 10, probably even top 5, and it didn’t make their list at all.

The very best of them are “How Many More Times...and Kashmir. And Dazed and Confused. And let us not forget Whole Lotta Love...best rock drum part in history.

I love “For your life”. Great guitar song where Page is burying the tremolo.

To be honest, there was something about that song I always found kind of off-putting. I could never figure out what it was, but I suspect it was a combination of the changes in tempo and the somewhat rambling parts of it, combined with the psychedelic sort of sound to it.
I get a similar feel about "Whole Lotta Love."

Indeed, everyone has different tastes!
As a musician, I find “Since I Been Loving You” to be a masterpiece.
Differences in taste used to keep music interesting and fun.
But today it all sounds the same to me: formulaic and over-processed, especially Pop.
I can hardly tell one song from another, nor one chubby black female vocalist from another.

Led Zeppelin album (1969) by Led Zeppelin and Pet Sounds (1966) by Beach Boys are both amazing works of art. Great for 400 mile road trips.

The clown probably heard the song once. The song is actually about a former girlfriend Plant had who told him its either music or me- fortunately Plant made the right decision.

One of my favorite Page solos of any Zeppelin album.
And the album itself, Presence, is just incredible.

More trivia- there is a tea shop on the ground floor of 96 St Marks called Physical Graffitea
https://physicalgraffitea.com/
My daughter was down near there with her friends a few years ago. I had her walk over and take a picture of the building. I would post it but have no clue how to post images from my computer.

This is my opinon: It’s not really a right or wrong decision per say, they way I look at it. Meeting a young woman, even if a very good woman, may just not be what a man is destined to do at that time. I think if you listen to the song there is no real regret at his path but just really reflecting on the nature of life and what may have been. Sometimes it is just not to be.
