No. 2 Washington survived an improbable late comeback attempt to secure a 37-31 win over No. 3 Texas and a matchup with No. 1 Michigan for the national title on Jan. 8.

The Huskies (14-0) outscored the Longhorns 16-10 in the second half after the teams were tied at 21-21 at halftime. Grady Gross’ third field goal of the game with 2:44 to go gave the Huskies a two-possession lead at 37-28.

The Texas secondary was considered a weak link. Well Pennix and his Tres Perros wide receivers torched them for 430 yards. Both Odunze and Polk averaged more than 20 yards per catch.

Washington vs. Michigan. Do you think the fans will be able to find the correct venue where the game is to be played?

I was thinking the same thing. The game should be moved to Pasadena.

Texas offensive line was awful last night. The only thing worse was their coach.

Washington came out playing as though it was a do or die game, which it was. Texas looked as though they were playing the first game of the season- completely unprepared. Washington kept UT in the game early or it would not have been close.

Future Big Ten bunkmates.

If Texas and Alabama won, then it would have been future SEC bunkmates.

Well, look at that . . . the vaunted BCS, with all the warts that it has caused with Opt Outs, style-point decisions, bowl games between 2 6-6 teams with ridiculous sponsors, etc. . . . and we end up with a TRADITIONAL Rose Bowl game to decide the title! Big-10 winner vs Pac-12 winner! LOL!

We could have had a champion YESTERDAY if the NCAA/BCS Committee hadn’t screwed up what was a FUN system! And would FSU had FOURTEEN of its 22 starters opt out if they were playing Texas in the Sugar Bowl or Alabama in the Orange Bowl with a potential national title from the voters on the line as an example?

Kill the BCS! Next season, with TWELVE teams? Watch the opt outs SOAR! Well done TV networks! Well done BCS! Well done NCAA! Maybe we can broadcast the games on the NFHS network? With automatic cameras and no sound?

Oh, wait a minute . . . I just announced I’m entering the Transfer Portal so I can join Russia Today as a pontificator! My NIL deal kicks in as I am now pushing my new Fantasy Portal Prediction site . . . It’s called ‘PayMEForwardNotYou.com!

Running game was decent too. On their first scoring drive, Penix inserted the ball to Johnson who penetrated the end zone. Penix found holes in the soft lining of the defense all night.

Exactly, Texas was not prepared and it showed, defensive backs were terrible.

Right now, I think Washington is the favorite to win it. Will Michigan have the answers to UW’s passing game.

And UW’s defense was much better than I expected.

E$PN and Kirk Herb$treit’$ nightmare scenario. No SEC team in the championship. They rig the system so Alabama gets in and then they proceed to lose.

Yeah. This is bad for E$PN. They rigged the system so that and SEC team would have a shot, and the ESSS EEEE SEEEE team proceeded to lose. I wasn’t interested in the outcome prior to this and really hope nobody watches.

Only because Bama got stupid on that final play in OT. What was Milroe thinking?

Didn’t even watch. Between NIL and the transfer portal, I’m rapidly losing interest.

It’s amazing how many of the quarterbacks now play for two or even three teams during their college career now.

I can’t keep track anymore. Plus, there’s not player development anymore. I watched an under-recruited kid play for four years, develop with an NFL level running back, be drafted last and be the starter for the 49ers. Even though I hate San Fagsicko, there is a level of pride knowing that he is one of “our guys.” With NIL and transfer portal, you don’t have that anymore.

With the transfer portal, any pretense of an interest in a university education among college football players has evaporated, and with NIL financial support the NCAA has essentially warped into the minor league system for pro football (and pro basketball), with the Power 5 as the equivalent of baseball’s triple A teams.

The games at the top of the pack are exciting, but the system itself is corrupt as hell, which is to be expected as higher ed devolves to higher ed, inc - just another racket, fronted by DEI incompetents like Harvard’s plagiarist-in-chief.

I see FSU just got DJ Uiagalelei, who already has played at Clemson and Oregon State.

Basically you root for laundry now, because you sure as hell can’t keep up with the players.
