Well, look at that . . . the vaunted BCS, with all the warts that it has caused with Opt Outs, style-point decisions, bowl games between 2 6-6 teams with ridiculous sponsors, etc. . . . and we end up with a TRADITIONAL Rose Bowl game to decide the title! Big-10 winner vs Pac-12 winner! LOL!
We could have had a champion YESTERDAY if the NCAA/BCS Committee hadn’t screwed up what was a FUN system! And would FSU had FOURTEEN of its 22 starters opt out if they were playing Texas in the Sugar Bowl or Alabama in the Orange Bowl with a potential national title from the voters on the line as an example?
Kill the BCS! Next season, with TWELVE teams? Watch the opt outs SOAR! Well done TV networks! Well done BCS! Well done NCAA! Maybe we can broadcast the games on the NFHS network? With automatic cameras and no sound?
Oh, wait a minute . . . I just announced I’m entering the Transfer Portal so I can join Russia Today as a pontificator! My NIL deal kicks in as I am now pushing my new Fantasy Portal Prediction site . . . It’s called ‘PayMEForwardNotYou.com!
Yeah. This is bad for E$PN. They rigged the system so that and SEC team would have a shot, and the ESSS EEEE SEEEE team proceeded to lose. I wasn’t interested in the outcome prior to this and really hope nobody watches.
đź‘Ť why have bowl games(other than revenue)? Very anticlimactic for my Buckeyes. Go Huskies! Beat TTUN!
Chasing big money is well on the way to killing big college football just as sure as can be. Gone are the days when you could spend the off-season arguing about who was really the best team, after spirited games in the four big New Years bowls, no “playoffs,” and the Coaches poll and the AP poll often unofficially crowning different teams. No longer are there traditional matchups like the Rose Bowl once had. Even traditional conferences are no longer recognizable after this year, as everyone shifts and changes to follow the money. Yeah the whole thing is a sick mess. I’m about done with it.
