I don’t do men, so I will not be celebrating this month, but I thought June was the month to celebrate those who do men. 😋

Also, check out Juanita’s website, follow Juanita’s Foods on Facebook and use #NationalMenudoMonth or #Vivelatradicion to share on social media.Nice ad for Juanita's. That's what FR is for, all right.

It is also rumored to be the perfect cure for hangovers. No rumor; it's a fact. It's cured many a hangover of mine (in my younger, drinking days, of course). The heat and the spiciness clears your head in no time.

I've had decent menudo at a hispanic restaurant in Birmingham, AL and in San Diego, CA. A new restaurant in Pocatello offered menudo on the weekend menu. I ordered it in hopes that it would be par with the prior experiences. It was gross. Nasty, slippery organ meat floating in a broth with nothing else. I struck the place off my list of acceptable places to eat.

Can’t say that I’m a big fan of tripe.
Neither the literal stuff, nor the figurative stuff served up by Big Media.

Not a whole lot better than a piping hot bowl of menudo topped with fresh chopped onions and oregano with some warm corn tortillas on a cold winter night. And yes, it cures hangovers. I know this from personal experience.
