The No. 1 challenge facing U.S. military recruiting is the American public’s lack of familiarity with its armed services, the Pentagon’s and services’ civilian personnel leaders testified Wednesday
. At the House Armed Services personnel subcommittee hearing, Franklin Parker, assistant secretary of the Navy for manpower and reserve affairs, said “under 13 percent [of eligible recruits] have a parent that served” in one of the armed services.
Rep. Jim Banks (R-Ind.), panel chairman, added four out of five recruits have a family member who served. The number of veterans in the population is declining.
Agnes Schaefer, Army assistant secretary for manpower and reserve affairs, also cited the effect of base realignment and closure, especially in the Northeast, on recruiting. There “are huge swaths of the country” in which there is no post and where residents don’t routinely see “a person in uniform walking down the street.”

Do US military never really had a problem recruiting until they went all globohomo. The only groups really enthusiastic about military service now are trannies, fags, lesbians and woketards. I feel so, so safe.
Right. No “legacy admissions” in colleges OR the military. Legacy admissions come from families that might have raised children who won’t buy into the DEI/LGBTQ+ agendas!
And the House Panel fell for that?
Lack of awareness? Uh, no. It’s an abundance of awareness that’s the problem. Young people don’t want to place themselves under the orders of racial bigots and sexual deviates who hate them. Is that difficult to understand?
Back in my 20’s I considered becoming a nuclear enginner on a sub.
NO WAY would I consider it with today’s navy.
Unless I was a “Village People” supporter....
When the Marines get as poossified as the Army and Navy that will change.
Au Counterair, I think the problem is recruits know too well about todays military
“””””refused to allow me to join whe Jimmah Cahtah was president.””””””
What does that mean?
He would have killed me. No son of his was going to serve under that democrat
The Marines just hide it more from the public.
I tend to agree. The American public is on to what the military has become and they don’t want any part of it - for themselves or for their younger relatives. As a veteran, I sure won’t counsel any young person I know that the US Military is a viable option for them.
This won’t change until the military stops this “the first [insert race, gender or sexual depravity] here” attitude.
Weren’t you your own man, and Carter was only president for 4 years.
What bothers me is that too many of them may have wanted to hear exactly what was said.
Gee...I wonder if fags fornicating during morning formation might be a factor.
I agree with you except for the jabs part.
I think young men who might otherwise consider the military are aware and repelled by the mess the military has become, It is an organization that will lose a big war quickly because its focus is not on war fighting skills but rather on moral destruction of the troops.
Au contraire? or is there a pun I missed?
Chinese and Russian military planners must be SO scared of all that LOL! :)
