When the signal goes up (possibly from Iran), how many terrorist cells across the country would go into action, all at the same time?
In the United State of America the Police have NO LEGAL DUTY to protect the citizens, See Supreme Court of Despots.
The he USSC has said that they aren’t required to protect you. They only need uphold the law.
Just a WAG - ~13 million illegals during Biden’s term so far, say 0.1% are bad actors, 10 bad actors per cell => 1300 cells.
Been like that for decades.
That’s why “location, location, location” is more important than ever.
If a citizen were to “deal with” a criminal by themselves — the cops would be on that one right quick. Big trouble for helpful citizen.
BUT the police will be there to arrest, imprison, or kill you when you do protect yourself.
Castle Rock was my old stomping ground as we lived in Larkspur. The Gonzales case confirmed two things at the US Supreme Court level:
1. The police are not required to show if called.
2. The police are not required to perform heroics if they do show.
Without question, the Castle Rock v. Gonzales case confirmed those two items and that we are responsible for our own defense.
A life without ready access to abortions and perverted sex is just not worth living.
Depends on the state, county, and city.
In some places if you blast an idiot the cops buy you a cup of coffee, ask how you’re doing and if you need a ride home. Great people.
In other places the cops are the idiots. They’ll steal your cash, blame you for crimes that never happened, assault you, and maybe even try their best to kill you. These are the people our Founders had in mind when they came up with the 2nd Amendment.
Where I live in central Kansas I’m at least 15 minutes away from a sheriff’s deputy arrival and that is he/she happens to be patrolling in the area. A lot of bad things can happen in 15 minutes.
It seems Places I are now few and far between - and Places II are expanding rapidly.
I am also familiar with Castle Rock. I used to live in Coal Creek Canyon NW of Golden and often had to drive to the Colorado Springs area for work. I am surprised that their police department was so unresponsive.
Fire departments also have no legal duty to respond
As I wrote elsewhere, one of the most magnificent contemporary pieces was written by Jeffrey Snyder, A Nation of Cowards. Written in 1991, Snyder was ahead of his time.:
most people readily believe that the existence of the police relieves them of the responsibility to take full measures to protect themselves. The police, however, are not personal bodyguards. Rather, they act as a general deterrent to crime, both by their presence and by apprehending criminals after the fact. As numerous courts have held, they have no legal obligation to protect anyone in particular. You cannot sue them for failing to prevent you from being the victim of a crime.
Is your life worth protecting? If so, whose responsibility is it to protect it? If you believe that it is the police's, not only are you wrong -- since the courts universally rule that they have no legal obligation to do so -- but you face some difficult moral quandaries. How can you rightfully ask another human being to risk his life to protect yours, when you will assume no responsibility yourself?...One who values his life and takes seriously his responsibilities to his family and community will possess and cultivate the means of fighting back...He will never be content to rely solely on others for his safety, or to think he has done all that is possible by being aware of his surroundings and taking measures of avoidance.
What Snyder wrote applies literally to every situation under the sun, not just thieves in the night but bad guys with a restraining order.
Maybe the left wants only police to have guns because they love domestic abuse.
And there always was some Jew hatred around. But it wasn't coming from the elite.
Yea. Just ask the family in Truman Capote’s In Cold Blood. At least they hung Baretta.
