Winter storm warnings are in effect for eight states, with a massive storm set to bring heavy rain, wind and snow to the eastern United States.
The storm warnings are currently in effect for parts of Alaska, Idaho, New Hampshire, Viginia, New York, West Virginia, Vermont and Washington.

It’s a sign that global warming is getting really really bad.
Midwest snow lovers are SOL this winter, El Nino is looking more badass than forecasted and that southern stream jet (setting up already slightly further east than early projections) will probably only provide one or two opportunities for a sufficient pre-phasing back in the Plains to generate the kind of low pressure system that would track up the Ohio and bury IL/IN/OH with Gulf moisture curling backside into a polar low-enhanced deformation zone.
My weather thermometer must be broken. Last night it showed 37F and it was snowing. Must have been fake snow falling.
84 with a nice breeze...
