Worldtraveler once upon a time quoting Wiki: "In the 20th century, the English term propaganda was often associated with a manipulative approach, but historically, propaganda has been a neutral descriptive term of any material that promotes certain opinions or ideologies.[1][3] Equivalent non-English terms have also largely retained the original neutral connotation."

Right.
This exactly the point I'm making -- historically, and even today in some languages, "propaganda" is no more than a political sales-pitch.
Any reputable sales-pitch is supposed to be factual, but all sales-pitches organize facts & logic to make their points, as the song says, they "accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative, don't mess with Mr. In-between."

And so, with propaganda historically, a political sales-pitch not necessarily implying something devious or deceptive.

However, that's not what we mean by "propaganda", because for us the word "propaganda" always implies lying, deceptions, distortions, dishonesty, fabrications, biased views, disinformation, indoctrination, etc.
So, I've tried to simplify the definition to just a few words as: "lies or distortions weaponized for political purposes".

In other words, we don't care about "propaganda" if by that we mean just "education" or "sales-pitch".
What we care about is propaganda meaning lies or distortions weaponized for political purposes.

Bottom line: regardless of your definitions, you can't just wave your hands at something and arbitrarily declare it "propaganda".
You have to demonstrate where there are lies, distortions, dishonesty, etc.

And you disagree with that why?

BJK #104: "‘My estimation is that our radical Democrats care more about US border insecurity than they do about Ukraine, and so may sacrifice Ukraine in order to keep US borders open.’"

BabaOreally: "bastards"

Right, but don't lose heart.
Politics can quickly become a hall of mirrors where it's impossible to distinguish what's real from all the reflections off other walls.
So, it all could potentially turn into a big train-wreck, but I don't think it will.

In the end, at the last possible moment -- i.e., New Years Eve -- they will cut a package-deal which includes aid for Ukraine (circa $70 billion), Israel, Taiwan and our Southern Border.
It will be the last aid authorized by Congress before our 2024 elections in November.

Whether it will be enough aid to bring victory to Ukraine, I can't say, though knowing our Democrats, likely not.
Democrats have never quite grasped the concept of "Ukraine wins, Russia loses", which is how Pres. Ronald Reagan won the Cold War in the 1980s.
Democrats have always been afraid of pushing Russia "too far" and would rather see a stalemate than risk war directly with Putin.

Again, I could be wrong, I hope I'm wrong and that in the end they come up with a package-deal which does seriously benefit Ukraine's cause.

We'll see.

What happens in our 2024 elections will be a drama for ages, I think, impossible to guess the outcome, though for now Republican victories seem likely.

tennmountainman: "The proof is that Davydov is not a Journalist.
He is a Draft Dodger living large in Switzerland."

And yet, despite all your inaccurate and unfair personal attacks on Davydov, you have yet to point to anything specific he's posted that is not factual.

tennmountainman: "But a Draft Dodger posting updates on a YouTube Channel?
Not a credible source.
Thus Propaganda."

But since your accusations against Davydov are false, that makes you a not-credible source and means you are posting propaganda.

Which brings us to this quote: “Less propaganda would be appreciated.” JimRob 12-2-2023"

Worldtraveler once upon a time: "What a bloody stupid comment after a lengthy tome, especially given BroJoeK's earlier quote: 'The source for my opinions is me, BroJoeK.' "

The only folks using this kind of verbiage are those Muslims who decry the US and Israel as "shaitan," great and small.
And you, who use it incorrectly."

Hmmmmmmmmmm......... it's most curious that in my very lengthy post, those are the words which aroused the strongest response from you, FRiend.

I think you are correct to be concerned about those words.

Everything I see tells me those words are true, but I will invite UMCRevMom@aol.com to weigh in -- am I being too unfair towards Mocker DiPippo?

Worldtraveler once upon a time: "Ukrainian veterans of the Azov Battalion, formed by a white supremacist and banned from receiving U.S. aid, attend a rally in Kyiv on March 14, 2020."

I think that issue has been fully addressed by Ukraine's government in the years since March 14, 2020

The Facts on 'De-Nazifying' Ukraine

This article from December 2022 addresses and debunks the whole "Ukraine Nazis" Russian propaganda line: Is there any truth to Russia's 'Ukrainian Nazis' propaganda?

This article discusses Nazism in Russia

How the Russian Media Spread False Claims About Ukrainian Nazis
NY Times July 2, 2022

Russian articles about Ukraine that mention Nazism -- peak in February 2022:

Nearly every country has a few neo-Nazis

Bottom line: the whole issue is bogus Russian propaganda.

So, do you here confess for all the world to see that your claims of something being "propaganda" are strictly your own opinion, your feeeeeelings, not based on any facts or logic?

Do you claim the right to declare anything you dislike is "propaganda" regardless of how factual or honest it might be?

If so, then I don't think your words have any real meaning or value and I'm certain they are not what's meant in this quote:

quoting BJK: "Which brings us to this quote: 'Less propaganda would be appreciated.' JimRob 12-2-2023"

Worldtraveler once upon a time: "Which brings me to cite the ACTUAL quote with its hot link source,"

In that quote he implies the phrase "Glory to Ukraine" is "propaganda" since American history does not grant "Glory" to anyone other than God, All Glory to God.

Factually, that's right, we do say "God Bless America" or "Pray for Israel", we "honor the Constitution", we even "praise our Founders" but we don't use the word "glory" in such contexts.
Nor does the Ukrainian word "slava" necessarily translate to the theologically freighted word "glory" -- "slava" can also mean praise, thanks, fame, kudos or stardom.

So "Glory to Ukraine" is not the best translation, "Praise for Ukraine" might be better, but "Pray for Ukraine" is certainly the most appropriate of best wishes.

All that said, the word "glory" is perfectly acceptable in many other contexts according to both English dictionaries and the Bible.
Factually, in the Bible and elsewhere, "glory" does not only refer to God, but it can also refer to people and to things.
Though obviously, if we speak of the "glory" of a field of flowers in bloom, that is a quite different glory from the "Glory of God", and a flower's glory is the sense of the word I assume is intended by the phrase, "Glory to Ukraine".

Bottom line: there is a factual basis for JimRob's complaint that "Glory to Ukraine" is propaganda, and the fact is: the misuse in American historical contexts of the word "glory".

Now we can debate it all day, but it remains a fact that the misuse of "glory" turns an otherwise polite sentiment into, if not blasphemy, at least propaganda.

Do you understand what I'm saying?
We don't just wave our hands at words we don't like and arbitrarily claim they are "propaganda".
In this example, JimRob identified a specific word, "glory" and defined exactly the problem with it -- American historical usage -- that turned the phrase from polite well wishes into propaganda.

I'm saying: be more like JimRob.
Is that a problem for you?

Worldtraveler once upon a time: "Using FactCheck as some also refer to NewsGuard and others demonstrates your Democrat-adjacent argumentation."

I listed several sources that came up on a google search, but if you don't like my sources, let's see what your own source from March 2022 said:

Your article goes on to report there are still a few neo-Nazis in Ukraine, of whom he includes the Azov Battalion, which since then has been pretty thoroughly de-Nazified by Ukraine's government.

Then your article concludes:

The photo you keep posting is from 2020 and this article from 2022 is already out of date.
Still, I don't have a problem with either the facts or the attitude the article takes towards them.

What is your problem with them?

tennmountainman: "Is Davydov a Journalist?...
ANSWER: No. He is living large in Switzerland."

Well, for goodness sakes...

Let's assume, for sake of argument that your screen name, "tennmountainman" implies you live in the mountains of Eastern Tennessee, OK?

Btw, I know that area somewhat, my mother was born & grew up nearby.

Of course, not everyone in the mountains of Eastern Tennessee is "living large", but some are and all benefit hugely from the intangible values of living in some of God's most beautiful country in the world.
So, "living large" is a relative matter, compared to others less fortunate.

Now, using your own logic, since you are "living large" in God's country, shouldn't I assume that everything you post here is nothing but propaganda?

And if all you can offer to Free Republic is your own propaganda, why bother to post it here?
