BabaOreally: "bastards"
Right, but don't lose heart.
Politics can quickly become a hall of mirrors where it's impossible to distinguish what's real from all the reflections off other walls.
So, it all could potentially turn into a big train-wreck, but I don't think it will.
In the end, at the last possible moment -- i.e., New Years Eve -- they will cut a package-deal which includes aid for Ukraine (circa $70 billion), Israel, Taiwan and our Southern Border.
It will be the last aid authorized by Congress before our 2024 elections in November.
Whether it will be enough aid to bring victory to Ukraine, I can't say, though knowing our Democrats, likely not.
Democrats have never quite grasped the concept of "Ukraine wins, Russia loses", which is how Pres. Ronald Reagan won the Cold War in the 1980s.
Democrats have always been afraid of pushing Russia "too far" and would rather see a stalemate than risk war directly with Putin.
Again, I could be wrong, I hope I'm wrong and that in the end they come up with a package-deal which does seriously benefit Ukraine's cause.
We'll see.
What happens in our 2024 elections will be a drama for ages, I think, impossible to guess the outcome, though for now Republican victories seem likely.
