I have my firearms for the range - sport shooting/hunting and I wanted something to plink cans in my back yard (live in the burbs). I purchased a Crossman AK1 fully automatic/semi automatic BB gun, lol - looked like fun. Waiting for CO2 and have not fired it yet.
Any FReepers have a review for this air gun?
For those on a strict budget, here’s a cheap but amazingly accurate little 480 FPS Crossman BB handgun for plinking. I bought one ten years ago and the grandkids finally wore it out, so I bought another one.

Apparently it's powered by typical 2 CO2 cartridges. There's very little air in the two cartridges it requires so you will likely have to replace them after one or two full magazines.
My advice? Yea, it's full auto and that's pretty cool. But the reality is that it's just throw away money on junk.........
I reckon the same. Will try full auto for the grins, but keep it on semi-auto. The Youtube videos are interesting to watch.
My girl... .177/.22 combo.

Good night squirrels.
Years ago I trapped them in a have a heart trap. Every day a squirrel. I would take them five miles away and let em loose. After noticing no real drop in squirrel numbers I spray painted their tails with red paint. Sure enough after about three days, the same squirrels with red tails would show up. They are like homing pigeons. It’s amazing really. So now we have a more permanent relocation method. That said, the rebound population that moves back to fill the void becomes quite robust. All the owls, hawks, Falcons, we have in the neighborhood tree canopies, and they don’t even make a dent. The predator birds seem to prefer the birds at all the back yard feeders. “POW” There goes Mr.Cardinal. Squirrels are not on the preferred menu.
Will take under advisement. Don’t want to break any regulations. And yes, the thing at first glance looks like a traditional firearm. Definitely would be aware of that if law enforcement were around.
Isn’t the Gamo a .177 pellet? Single shot. The stock scope i if sighted in is pretty accurate.
Man, that thing is hideous. Probably fun, but not much of a looker IMO.
Lol! Heck, I kinda like how it looks.
Think I just found my Christmas present! Kind of like the AR version better. They have aftermarket drum mags for the AK version...gotta check if that will also fit the AR version.
Ha! Sounds just like what I have been through. The birds and rabbits gets wiped out here by the hawks, eagles and coyotes. They don’t seem to do much to the squirrel population though. I have a literal picnic ground for squrrels. We are overloaded with oak acorns, hickory nuts and walnuts. As one buddy used to say, those red squirrels are big enough to put a saddle on them.
The only animal to clear a forested area out of a squirrel population in one night is the Fisher. It will chase and pursue every last squirrel. Kills them like they are annoying. Meanest animal on the planet.
Its very accurate. We killed a possum that was on our chicken coop with the raptor pellets. Its not a toy.
I have a Benjamin pellet rifle. Very accurate. 9 or 10 pumps and you’re good to go. Had it for over forty years.
I wear eye protection shooting projectiles, so should be alright.

Yep, sometimes they bounce back - I have been told.
I have a Crossman pump up BB gun that accept.177 pellets. Six pumps with a BB will keep the various little beasts out of the garden, ten with a pellet will drop them.
I also have a Daisy Winchester 94 look alike that is just a a childhood relic. It works just fine.
I’ve killed about 40 squirrels in the last two years. I have about another 10 or so to shoot.

So you can eat meat while the rest of us eats bugs????
Is it (1) accurate and (2) powerful enough to take out a squirrel at, say, 25 feet.
A Benjamin or UMAREX in .177 or .22 would be fine and affordable. I got a pigeon in one eye and out the other at 60 yards with my UMAREX. I can hunt flies out to near that with my competition rifle if the wind is light to non existent.
