Two of these passed over our house a few min ago. Very slowly and the motor sound was very loud. Obviously they were big.
I live near the Arizona National Guard Papago Park Military Reservation and so I'm sure it came from there. We do get some interesting craft from there overhead at times.
I'm just curious. What is it carrying? It looks like a bomb but I am guessing that it isn't. ?

The "Huey" helicopter famous in Vietnam was actually named the Bell UH-1 Iroquois. Then there was also the Black Hawk, Chinook, "H-13 Sioux" famous in Korea, and UH-72A Lakota, among others.
On June 10, 2012, Lakota elders ritually blessed two new South Dakota Army National Guard UH-72A Lakotas at a traditional ceremony on the Standing Rock Reservation in North Dakota. Ceremonies like these happened often over the past several decades. So when you think of these helicopters, remember the spirit, confidence, agility, endurance and warrior ethos their names evoke!
