Sheesh, there must have been a lot of pent-up rancor and tension working together for so many years. Sad to see. Not the biggest fan of their work but their work was certainly a part of my playlists in the 80s for me.

“or it could be over Oates singing their songs in solo acts”
I hardly think that can be the point, since Daryl regularly sang their songs in his solo podcast, without Oates (Oates did come on the podcast once or twice though).

Ok with me. If I never hear one of their songs again I’m good.

Didn’t Oates run as a Democrat for something, perhaps they are opposite sides of the spectrum.

I have just one Hall & Oates album. Abandoned Luncheonette. Great record. I had tickets to see them (and The Babies) in 1977 in Pittsburgh,PA. Radio station (WDVE) said "plenty of Hall & Oates tickets left." Me and a bud went down, bought two tickets and once inside discovered there were no seats left. Woman Pittsburgh cop tells us "you cant stand here you must find a seat." Not one seat was empty. We left. I called the station the next day and complained to them what happened. Man on the phone says he was just passing along info and hung up on me.

I think they did great work in the 80s. Very sad to see these guys go after each other in such nasty ways.
The Bible is right when it says the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. When it can divide partnerships like this, people are diminished.
Not good.
