Thursday night's game against the Baltimore Ravens was not a must-win for the Cincinnati Bengals. The 34-20 loss did make it significantly tougher for the Bengals to make the playoffs, however, especially with Joe Burrow suffering a significant injury in the loss.
Entering the prime-time showdown, Cincinnati's chances at making the playoffs were 48.6%, according to SportsLine data scientist Stephen Oh. Those odds dropped to 38% after the loss, and now they're almost nonexistent with Bengals head coach Zac Taylor announcing that Burrow torn a ligament that will require season-ending surgery. Oh now gives the Bengals a 1.3% chance of making the postseason.

Browning looked pretty good. Probably not enough to save their season though.
Too many players, especially quarterbacks, going down this year with injuries.
theres more to this story...they hid this injury from the public, violating league rules. This was done obviously for gambling purposes. Theres calls for a criminal investigation....lawsuits are being filed. This is gonna get good..
Uh -- whut? There's a league rule about announcing an injury like this? LOL.
Uh wut - yes there is
Vegas has their hooks in the nfl
Were the Bengals supposed to announce that he’s out for the season BEFORE he was injured? :-0
Given that betting and conditions are in constant flux, the prospect of unsavory shenanigans is also a constant. Let’s see what comes of it. Meanwhile Joe Cool is . . . hurting.
Without Burrow the Bengals are done. Sadly....
I understand what you’re saying - but the NFL thinks he was injured during the week. The NFL is asserting that the Bengals knew about it and took down pics of joe wearing a wrist brace as he was arriving in Baltimore. I’m sort of a fan - hate to see him or any of the others hurt.
But this is the crap that spoils the game - greedy owners and legalized gambling. Horrible refs. I think it’s all rigged.
Press conference today Joe said no previous injury. Didn’t even realize he landed on the wrist till he saw the film. When he made the last TD pass to Mixon he felt the pop/snap. When you saw him go to his knees on the sideline after attempting a test throw, you knew it was bad. He’s worked hard on recovering from his previous injuries, expect the same.
He had a brace on his wrist when he walked in the stadium
They showed it on the prime broadcast
Then how come he was filmed wearing a wrist brace on the same wrist before the game? And how was he injured? His ligament tore because he threw a pass? there was no contact. It makes no sense unless he had a prior injury that gave out.
