We talk a lot about how woke Disney-owned Marvel is, but it's biggest competitor DC isn't learning any lessons Marvel's failures. In fact, they seem to be going all out to go out of business first.
The bi-sexual Superman comic they launched lasted all of one year.
Then there were the shameless diversity covers that essentially equated Hispanic people with food.
Remarkably, Dr. Jill Biden's breakfast tacos didn't make the cut. Sorry, San Antonio!
And now, DC is trying again by introducing a new gay-Green Lantern title called Green Lantern: Alan Scott.
And if turning another superhero into a flaming homosexual isn't enough, they're trying another tactic and adding "God-endorsed" sodomy to the plotline.
(I blurred the near-nudity here)
"Hey — if God himself didn't want me to love you then how could I?"
You might be surprised to learn that sales of the new book were abysmal. The writer, Tim Sheridan, took to social media to call all the fans that refused to buy his soft-core gay fantasy books "haters" and "queerphobes" and begged people to buy them.
"The only way we can shut these people down is to make this book an undeniable success," he continued. "The only way to prove to the big publishers that there's a huge market for authentic stories about LGBTQIA+ characters and these stories are for everyone is to buy the heck out of books like this."
Yeah, no one showed up. Much like the other panderverse DC storylines, the title is tanking.
The Comicbook Hub system that tracks sales across random stores did not register the book on its charts … at all.
Sales were all but non-existent.
But DC isn't ready to throw in the towel and just give up because of the failure of one diversity book … or even several diversity books (and television shows ... and movies).
They also have a several-million dollar streaming series staring the gay Green Lantern in production!
No one is ever going to be okay with you gaying up comic books.
Just stay down, DC.
Why didn’t they create their own super idiots ? LOL
Just ask Hulk Hogan......................
Do not follow wrestling.
Everybody just go back in the closet. Don't want to know what you are doing with your junk.
+1. Definitely being done on purpose. This crap accelerated after Obama was "elected". This is Obamanomics, which has nothing to do with economics or capitalism.
Pandering is always obvious and everyone rejects it.
Kelly Sue DeConnick former Marvel comic book writer said if you don’t like my politics don’t buy my book and guess what ,LOL
There is a reason why the term “faggot” is an insult.
Comic books used to be sold in drug stores all across the country. Now I don’t know where people buy them. Barnes & Noble? Specialty comic book stores?
Old-time comics had ads in them, and the ads are very memorable to the boomer generation. I don’t think today’s comics have ads in them. In a way, comics mirror what’s happening in other media — a move away from an advertising-based business model to a subscriber/reader-based business model — but while some people will always pay to read The New York Times, there’s a limit to what comic book readers will put up with.
“Oh gee what did he do?
Do not follow wrestling.”
He and his girlfriend were videoed having sex thru a window by some trash mag reporters. He sued them and won, and wound up owning the rag.

Gawker lawsuit
Main article: Bollea v. Gawker
In April 2012, a sex tape between Hogan and Heather Clem, the estranged wife of radio personality Bubba the Love Sponge, emerged online. On October 4, 2012, Gawker released a short clip of the video. In the video, Bubba can be heard saying that the couple can “do their thing” and he will be in his office. At the end of the video, he can also be heard telling Heather, “If we ever need to retire, here is our ticket”.
Hogan later told Howard Stern on his satellite radio show that, “it was a bad choice and a very low point” and “I was with some friends and made a wrong choice. It has devastated me, I have never been this hurt”. On October 15, 2012, Hogan filed a lawsuit against Bubba and Heather Clem for invading his privacy.
A settlement with Bubba was announced on October 29, 2012. Clem publicly apologized to Hogan. In December 2012, a federal court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, found that Gawker’s publication of the video snippet did not violate U.S. copyright law. Hogan then joined Gawker in the ongoing action against Heather Clem in state court in Florida, alleging invasion of privacy, negligent and intentional infliction of emotional distress and seeking $100 million in damages.
On October 1, 2015, the New York Post reported that a Florida Judge granted Hogan access to Gawker’s computer system for a forensic expert to search Gawker’s computers and office.[316]
Hogan sued Gawker for $100 million for defamation, loss of privacy, and emotional pain,[317] and on March 18, 2016, was awarded $115 million.
Also, on August 11, 2016, a Florida judge gave Hogan control of the assets of A.J. Daulerio, former Gawker editor-in-chief, who was involved in the posting of Hogan’s sex tape.
Silicon Valley billionaire Peter Thiel helped Hogan to finance his lawsuit against Gawker Media.
On November 2, 2016, Gawker reached a $31 million settlement with Hogan.
Speaking of DC..... I now know why Shazam 2 grossed about a third of Shazam 1.
Gads.... just can’t help themselves. Stay in the closet already.
Dang.... that reminds me of a joke about whatcha call two lezzies in a closet.
People wanted to see what Shazam would look like on the big screen.
They saw it, and that was enough.
Since I don't go to movies any more, why did it bomb?.............
I haven’t done the big screen in a minute or two. Frankly, I wish drive-ins were still a thing but streaming is the “new” norm.
The “official” claim was under-budgeting but going woke seems to be one of the many pathways of self destruction these dayz.
Total turn-off while shaking my head and exclaiming “What a friggin waste of material”.
Shazam wasn’t one of my favorite comics as a kid of the 60’s. I was a Spiderman/Superman/Batman type...................
Doors and curtains were invented for a reason people. Use them.
More of a movie buff than comics. Prolly shoulda went with comics as many of the early ones command respectable prices.
My mom thru all my comics away. I saved every one.
I had first issues of Spiderman, Silver Surfer, and some others.
A few years back I checked the Comics value website and the Silver Surfer alone was worth $10k................
Two different problems going on here.
The big problem was the financing companies being taking over by lefties. They instituted ESG scores (environmental, social, and governance criteria) as a way of seeing if companies were “worthy” to receive the capital they needed to operate. The “social” aspect was particularly obnoxious. If you were an entertainment company they counted the number of minorities in your shows and movies. You had to have homosexual representation, or else no loans for you. Even if you weren’t in entertainment, your commercials HAD to have mixed race couples, gay couples, stupid men, etc., or you might not get that capital you need to stay open. Most people don’t understand the extent these tentacles extended into 90% of corporate America.
Governance caused its own issues. It meant companies had to hire diverse management. Diverse management hires leftist employees. Before you know it the entire culture of your company is Marxist. Once entrenched, it is almost impossible to clear out.
So the ESG push accelerated and reinforced the leftist trends that had already begun. It turbocharged them. One little problem. Like government interference in the economy, forcing social change not only doesn’t work, it can have unintended consequences. In this case it turned a blow torch on the boiling frog. A lot of people became aware of the crap being pushed on them and they began to push back. The left overplayed their hand. The normies woke up - so to speak - and are pushing back.
You can see it in the failure of the recent Marvel, DC and Disney products. The Bud Light boycott. The Target boycott. There are other examples, but you get the point. Hollywood is failing - 2023 will likely be the worst box office year, adjusted for inflation, in decades. Disney park attendance is dropping.
Stay the course, my friends. Help save popular culture. Reject the woke.
