So it’s been unsettling to find out the Avengers are Earth-bound, after all. “The Marvels,” the 33rd installment in the MCU and the sequel to 2019’s billion-dollar behemoth “Captain Marvel,” cratered with $47 million in North America and $63 million internationally — the lowest opening weekend in the franchise’s history. Before this weekend, the worst debut belonged to 2008’s “The Incredible Hulk” ($55.4 million, not adjusted for inflation), which premiered at the dawn of the MCU.

Only one answer..
it was not WOKE enough... Must up WOKE content.
Maybe take a break from superhero movies. Especially woke ones people actually dislike.
I’m thinking “Marvel Leave It To Beaver” might work.
What’s needed are competent story writers. As long as they hire via the lens of their woke ideas nothing can save them. It is obvious that the disease of egoism has fully taken over. The studio is incapable of even seeing what’s wrong, much less correcting it. Creating an enjoyable movie experience is apparently lower priority than pushing their message. As if the movie industry, with the most degraded, perverted, hypocritical bunch of druggie scum has any moral altitude to preach anything to anyone. They are dancing monkeys and exist at our pleasure. What arrogant snobs they are.
Why would I spend $10 to $20 to see insufferable actresses raise their hand in a stop pose to release power. Further, if I don’t praise all the lectures contained in the movie, I am accused of being a bigot, a sexist, and a hateful person. I have much better uses for $10 to $20 dollars.
Women don’t want to see that either. Most people don’t consider that good entertainment. Hence the major failure.
But of course the problem is external “baddies” - men, South Park...
Like no one could dislike it for valid reasons.
The more feminized hollywood has become, the more these places lash out at their customers when they make garbage and its not embraced by the public. Can’t be their fault. Must be because the audiences suck. Thats what modern women do. I really hate to see entertainment companies going this way, because they will not learn and make corrections. They will keep putting out crap no one wants and screaming at people for not attending their unwanted disasters.
The problem with the director was she did not have much of a directing track record and had certainly never directed a $250 Million dollar film and had no idea what she was doing, add to that a completely terrible script and multiple reshoots and bad CGI and you get this.
How Brie Larson ever won an Oscar is beyond me.
What’s next for Disney? Another woke-infested monetary disaster. Next question?
“At some point there’s got to be a shareholders revolt................”
I think the Disney HR department, officers, directors, and heads of the mutual funds holding much of the stock believe they have a higher calling. They also believe the establishment will bail them out.
This reviewer is clueless.
See the latest South Park movie.
Kathleen Kennedy is taken to task
The fact this turd was ever green lit as a theatrical release shows just how idiotic Disney leadership is... Let alone spending $275M to make it... insane.
Once you add in marketing costs, this movie would need to make 800M to just break even... insane.
The only reason the first one made a billion is because it was sandwiched between the two final Avengers movies. M-She-U has been struggling badly since Endgame.
They are virtue signaling to distract from the fact that they have no story.
Good writers are avoiding Disney because they do not pay their royalty obligations. Why work for a company that will stiff you when you can work for companies who will not?
Fixed it for ya'.
Sounds like The Force Awakens.
British actor Tom Hiddleston is done with them. The second season of Loki is the end of his 14 year relationship with Marvel.
