‘A Failed Presidency’: Mike Johnson Says He ‘Can’t’ Name One Successful Biden Policy As US Enters ‘Dangerous Time’

HAILEY GOMEZ
GENERAL ASSIGNMENT REPORTER
October 26, 2023
10:39 PM ET

House Speaker Mike Johnson called out President Joe Biden’s “failed” term on Thursday on “Hannity,” stating there was “almost no policy” he would agree with the president on.

Johnson sat down with Fox News host Sean Hannity to discuss various topics, including where he plans to guide the House for his term as speaker. However, when discussing his first meeting with the president, he noted that while it was “cordial and pleasant” he does not view this administration as successful.

“I’d only met him once before. It was cordial and pleasant. I have no problem with President Biden as an individual, right? You respect the office. It’s a biblical admonition that you give honor where honor is due and that’s the honest — the respect that we have for the office,” Johnson stated.

“But he and I agree on almost no policy. So we didn’t get into that too much today, Sean, but there’ll be time for that in the days ahead.”

Hannity followed up on Johnson’s comments by asking him if he could think of “one thing” that Biden has done a “really good job on.” To which Johnson responded by stating he could not, blaming the issues on policy choices.

“I can’t, I can’t. I think it’s been a failed presidency and all the problems, some of those that you’ve articulated already at the outset of the program here, were caused by policy choices, and that’s the problem I have with him,” Johnson continued. “It’s philosophical.”

Johnson notably commented on the alleged “cognitive decline” of Biden that many in the public have already noticed, stating that while he is aware of the “reality,” America can not afford to “project weakness.”

Chicago Struggles to House Asylum-Seekers as Winter Weather Hits the City

https://abc17news.com/cnn-regional/2023/11/01/chicago-migrants-lives-are-at-risk-in-tents-in-cold-weather-volunteer-says/

EXCEPT:
CHICAGO, Illinois (WBBM) — Chicago’s migrant population is dealing with their first winder snowfall – with many still waiting for a space in a shelter and sleeping outside in the cold.

As CBS 2’s Marybel González reported Tuesday night, the city and volunteers have been taking action to help the asylum seekers stay warm.

At the Austin (15th) District police station, 5701 W. Madison St., a group of migrants relied on goodwill to weather the cold. Volunteer Laurel Fischer-Holden, with the Chicago Police Station Response Team spends her days collecting donations – and then drops them off at the police station for the migrants.

“Chicago is an asylum city. This is not the kind of asylum we should be offering people,” Fischer-Holden said. “It’s 30 degrees out here, and they’re putting their lives at risk in tents for their asylum.”

On Tuesday, the City of Chicago said it was providing coats and warm clothing at one location, and 21 warming buses as police district stations to provide temporary warmth.

But volunteers say that is not enough.

“The buses aren’t working, because people are reluctant to get on them in the middle of the night, for fear that their belongings will be stolen from their tents,” Fischer-Holden said.

Migrants we spoke with off camera echoed those concerns. But as temperatures dropped Tuesday night, they said the warming buses may be their only option.

“We need a permanent solution for the bad weather,” Fischer-Holden said.

*********************************************************

PERMANENT SOLUTION: SEND THEM BACK TO GOOD WEATHER.

We have 2 empty Pizza Hut buildings here.

Both have been closed for a while now.

We weren’t going to Pizza Hut when it was open.

The last time we wnt was about 10 years or more ago because I had been given a Pizza Hut gift card for Christmas.

We ate and then went to use the card and they couldn’t accept it because their card reader or some such nonsense was down.

We never went back and I threw the card away.

Can you push it out by putting a pillow on your abdomen and bending over it while sitting in your bed?

Not just been busy and not getting on my tablet too much as it irritates my neck. Not resting for my surgery, I figure I’ll get rest when I’m in the hospital, hopefully with good drugs. And I can’t drive or do much for 2 weeks after.

Judge Rejects ACLU Opposition to Trump Gag Order

She did specify that the order did not strip First Amendment rights entirely because President Trump could still criticize President Joe Biden.

U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan rejected a motion filed by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) to file an amici brief opposing the gag order on former President Donald Trump.

ACLU executive Anthony Romero had made clear that he was no supporter of President Trump, saying “no modern-day president did more damage to civil liberties” than he, but that the ACLU was defending the First Amendment.

“If we allow his free speech rights to be abridged we know that other unpopular voices—even ones we agree with—will also be silenced,” he stated. “As much as we disagreed with Donald Trump’s policies, everyone is entitled to the same First Amendment protection against gag orders that are too broad and too vague.”

My friend travels around the state on prayer assignments. She just got back from Chicago, where it’s windy, snowing, with freezing temperatures.

Many are in tents. Little children are wearing flip-flops with no coats. All are asking for work.

BIDEN and his administration should go to prison for crimes against humanity.
