and explains why he's braver than Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sly Stallone

Jean-Claude Van Damme was famously locked in a feud with Steven Seagal in the 90s and has addressed his feelings about him in an interview with MailOnline.

Both actors were considered two of the best action heroes of the golden age of martial arts in Hollywood movies at the time, which led to a level of competitiveness and public sparring.

And when Jean-Claude heard Seagal, 71, belittling him in interviews, he is said to have challenged him to 'meet him outside' at a party at Sylvester Stallone's Miami home in 1991 - but Steven refused to take him up on his offer.

Jean-Claude spoke about the situation with MailOnline from his hotel room in Hong Kong and said: 'If Steven doesn't like me, that's OK. If someone like Beethovan or Einstein didn’t like me, maybe that would concern me.

'But Seagal, I don’t mind him not liking me. I really don’t mind. I don’t think there’s any sort of problem.'

Jean-Claude, dubbed the Muscles from Brussels, said he is still getting to film around two movies a year and said he's much braver than Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sly Stallone when it comes to taking on work.

He said: 'It’s impossible for a guy like me to not work. I speak French, a bit of English. I am doing two French movies next.

'Arnie and Sly, they are afraid to go international but I am a globetrotter. I've been to Azerbaijan, Khazakstan... all over. They can be seen as dangerous countries I guess, but I have been welcomed there.'

While Jean-Claude is still in demand in the movie world, he has decided to embark on a new venture and is now part-owner of a new Irish whiskey called Old Oak.

Funny line from that reviewer.

“and Seagal walks away until he gets to the stairs where his body double takes over”

Who could stand against sensei Seagal’s deadly Dim Mak and Cheese moves?

I would still separate fighters and dancers. Chuck Norris won multiple world championships in his style of karate. Van Damme had a professional kickboxing record of 17-1. Dolph Lundgren came second in the world championship of bare-knuckle karate and he was really big.

Contrast this with a puss-sack Seagal, who never got in the ring. All mouth.

The fact that all of these guys have (or had) body guards is not insignificant.

"The fact that all of these guys have (or had) body guards is not insignificant."

That's the problem with "advertising". I remember a group that used to wear their school jackets with swagger. Was fine until one of the most blatant got into a war of words with what they presumed to be your average Joe, which ended up with a "whoa. Didn't see that one coming" moment.

The real Kumite fighter that the movie Bloodsport was based on and played by JCVD had a problem with Van Damme at one time.

I think Dux met him outside a bar once and the story was Van Damme chose to retreat instead of fighting

That dude, Frank Dux Is the real deal!

Frank Dux still holds four world records: Fastest Knockout – 3.2 seconds

Fastest Punch with a Knockout – 0.12 seconds

Fastest Kick with a Knockout – 72 mph

Most Consecutive Knockouts in a Single Tournament – 56.

He nailed Stallone too.
JCVD was much better than Seagal, he just had some temper problems at the time. He was married to a drop dead gorgeous female bodybuilder back in the day. She left him because, according to her,he was physically and mentally abusive.

“Bullies are weak” is not correct. Bullies are just strong enough to beat most and then adding a lot of bullshit to intimidate is more accurate.

Doesn't sound like that kid was a true "bully." More like a "bullsh*t artist."

I was helping at a DeMolay booth selling hot dogs at a 4th of July celebration. Lots of silly stuff including breaking boards with karate moves. It was getting dark when a couple guys challenged me break a board. I gave it a good hard punch. The guy holding the board went ass over teakettle. My knuckles were bloody. WTH? It was PLYWOOD. It was too dark to see that. Ouch.
