Poland said Wednesday it will no longer arm Ukraine and instead focus on its own defense, as the two allies clashed at a key moment in Kyiv's fightback against invasion by Russia.
In a mounting row over grain exports from Ukraine, Poland summoned the Ukrainian ambassador to protest remarks at the UN by President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The Ukrainian leader said some countries were only pretending to support his nation as it wages a counteroffensive to retake land taken by Russia. Warsaw took offense at this.

Vitaly Bespalov came across a series of online job listings for “content manager.” They looked too good to be true. The pay was 45,000 rubles per month – around $700 at the time – well above the starting salary. “There were no requirements,” he recalls. “No job descriptions.” And no mention of the informal title that came with the position: Internet troll.
Vitaly began clocking in every morning at 55 Savushkina Street in St. Petersburg, the home of Russia’s now-infamous troll factory, otherwise known as the Internet Research Agency.
The daily grind was simple: create fake accounts on social media and use them to post comments online as the bosses instructed. The broader effort of the factory, however, was a state-of-the-art propaganda campaign.
Apart from a few ideological employees who referred to themselves as “Putin’s trolls,” the staff at the factory was mostly indifferent to politics and motivated only by money.
They were paid to meet specific quotas for online comments, blogs and other posts on social media. They were given strict instructions on what issues to write about and how to spin the news of the day.

ast year, the headquarters of the mine action tactical group underwent a course on mine action planning, which helped to prepare personnel for coordinated cooperation: the organization of planning, the procedure for analyzing the situation during mine action operations, familiarization with the duties of officials, as well as the organization of work with documents that documents are being developed and reported.
All this was carried out in accordance with NATO standards, which the Ukrainian army strives to master in full. In addition to the theoretical part, an important stage was preceded by the military personnel learning English at a level sufficient for understanding technical documentation and the possibility of free communication with international partners. Turkey Announces Plans to Build Nuclear Power Plant with China Instead of Russia

The agreement between Turkey and China for the construction of a new nuclear power plant is nearing completion, and as a result, Turkey will withdraw its participation from the project involving the Russian Federation. This information was reported by Al-Monitor.
Turkey’s Minister of Energy, Alparslan Bayraktar, stated to journalists that Ankara is already in negotiations with a Chinese company regarding this agreement, and its finalization may occur in a few months.
It is worth noting that as early as July, Bayraktar had mentioned that Turkey was in discussions with several countries, including Russia, regarding the construction of a second and third nuclear power plant.
“Nuclear energy is an essential part of Turkey’s energy planning. South Korean companies and Rosatom have expressed interest in construction,” stated the announcement at that time.
According to the publication, Russia’s refusal is particularly unwelcome as Russia had received only one order from Ankara for the construction of a nuclear power plant, while Turkey plans to build a third such station with different partners.
Furthermore, Bayraktar’s comments about selecting a contractor for the power plant have become relevant against the backdrop of improving relations between China and Turkey.
Previously, Russia had attempted to leverage the construction of Turkey’s first nuclear power plant, “Akkuyu,” which was of significant importance to Turkey, for traditional Russian pressure. However, construction was suspended after the deterioration of relations between the two countries in November 2015, following Turkey’s downing of a Russian Su-24 frontline bomber over Syria.
Currently, Rosatom is recalculating funds for its subsidiary companies involved in the construction of nuclear power plants in Turkey through banks that have come under sanctions.
In addition, Akkuyu Nukleer AS, controlled by Rosatom, terminated its contract with the Turkish construction company IC Ictas in favor of Russian TSM Enerji for the completion of the nuclear power plant in Turkey. Representatives of IC Ictas accused Rosatom of attempting to reduce the number of Turkish subcontractors in the project.

Day 574: Sep 20
Today, there are a lot of new developments in the south.
Here, Ukrainians conducted the biggest and most comprehensive strike on the Russian bases in Crimea.
The target of the first strike, however, became the Krasnodar region. The goal of the attack was to divert the attention of the Russian forces from the area of the main strike. Russian sources reported that Ukrainians attacked an oil depot near Sochi with aerial kamikaze drones. One of the drones managed to hit one of the reservoirs on the site and cause a massive fire. The square area of the fire reached more than 100 square meters, and the firefighters could not put it out.
As a result, 1200 tons of kerosene were destroyed, and the nearby reservoirs were possibly damaged. At first, Russian sources claimed that the fire was likely caused by an accident, as the locals did not hear any drones, and the air defense was silent, however, later, the footage from the site clearly featured the remnants of the kamikaze drone.
And the fact that no one even noticed the drones is precisely the reason why Ukrainians continue striking distant regions – because there are two possible outcomes, and BOTH are beneficial to Ukraine – either Russians have no air defense in the region, and the strike is successful, or Russian air defense shoots it down, which means that they were likely forced to relocate it away from the front.
Several hours after the successful strike on the oil depot, Ukrainian drones started flying all over Crimea. Ukrainians focused their attacks on three different areas: northern, western, and southern.
In the northern part of the region, explosions were heard near Dzhankoi. Dzhankoi is one of the main logistical hubs that connects Crimea and Russia with the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions. The targets of the strike were likely railroad facilities and warehouses on the outskirts of the town, where Russians usually had a lot of ammunition and equipment. In the southern part of the region, Ukrainians concentrated their efforts on the military objects around Sevastopol. At first, a series of explosions were reported near the Belbek airfield.
Another group of drones targeted the area between Sevastopol and Inkerman. Based on the geolocated footage, some of the drones managed to hit their targets.
Next local residents filmed how Strom Shadow missiles were flying right in the direction of Sevastopol. This time, however, the missiles passed it and struck a Russian base several km south of the city. Huge plumes of smoke rising to the sky indicated that Ukrainians hit the target, and later, the Ukrainian Intelligence as well as the General Staff, confirmed that Ukrainians successfully hit and destroyed the command center of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.
Interestingly, local occupation authorities claimed that the plumes of smoke were from the burning grass. Later, Russian sources reported that Ukrainians used 5 Su-24M to launch 8 cruise missiles Storm Shadow and 3 decoy missiles AGM-160.
In the western part of the region, explosions were reported near Feodosia. The target of the strike became Russian aviation on the airfield in Novofedorivka, and as confirmed by the footage, some drones managed to hit their targets. However, the attacks still continue. Russian analysts stated that this is the most intense and concentrated strike on Crimea and, especially, this particular region. They concluded that Ukrainians are trying to exhaust the Russian air defense prior to delivering a decisive blow with Storm Shadow missiles on the Russian fighter jets.
In the meantime, a sabotage group blew up 2 Russian jets and one helicopter on the Russian military base near Moscow. The attack caused a wave of panic as this airfield is used by the highest officials. In the aftermath of the explosions of the improvised explosive devices, Russians lost a helicopter Mi-8 that they used to shoot down Ukrainian drones, AN-148 and IL-20 jets. Russian federal services are taking measures to find the traces of the saboteurs, but so far, with no result.
Today, Russians also lost a fighter jet Su-34, this time due to a malfunction or pilot error. The crash happened in the Voronezh region. The pilots reportedly timely ejected themselves from the aircraft, but the valuable piece of aviation will no longer be used to conduct strikes in Ukraine.
