This is an ongoing thread – meaning come back to chat, post information, or ask questions any time. Hopefully the thread won’t stagnate and I’ll do better at posting weekly (or bi-weekly) topics than I have in the past. (anyone willing to post a topic now and then we'll be highly praised and appreciated).
We are in for some bumpy rides, and prepping can only help. If for peace of mind, if nothing else. We have a wonderful gardening thread and a current-events survival/prepping thread, and hopefully this one can piggyback off of those, maybe having a longer discussion about certain topics or … whatever. It's your thread, do what you like with it! (civilly, of course)
Here are granny’s threads, if anyone wants to peruse them:

That’s an excellent idea.
I am going to borrow it.
Thank you.
Are you asking if the doctor came to my house? If so no! I went to their office for my yearly.
Once upon a time....
Three knaves (the butcher, the baker and the candlestick maker) said “Calgon, take me away”.
And they all lived happily ever after.
Those are so clever and cute.
I was asking because my insurance company calls constantly wanting to make a housecall to check my BP and see if I know nutrition. I have to get downright rude so they’ll leave me alone. I go to the doctor every year for my checkup.
How Wonderful! Please add me to your ping list. Thanks.
This is a great idea.
That’s a cute Christmas idea. And will encourage those that aren’t prepared yet to at least have their bag completed. It wouldn’t be that much harder for them to add a few items
“Proby loves frisky lil’soups, they are so expensive. I tried making soup like it, and he wouldn’t touch it.”
They are expensive. Especially for being soup! I wonder how it tastes different than our soups. Have you ever tried it, lol!
Cadbury had his first taste of fish tonight, some tilapia.
“Was i dreaming or did I see a catfood recipe on this thread?”
There will be, when we get to the pet food topic. Lurker posted his dog food recipe. He even cans it!
“Three knaves (the butcher, the baker and the candlestick maker) said “Calgon, take me away”.”
Sounds like a perfect fairy tale for drag queen story hour.
(a couple years ago, would we even have thought we were going to put drag queen and story time in the same sentence?)
got you on it!!
If you have any ideas for topics or want to take a week, please let me know!
Ok. What’s up with this? You guys chatting away and nobody thinks about JudyinCanada just because I am catless. Lol just kidding - how is everyone? Hopefully not gone to bed already!
In the “what’s new” department.....PIES ARE ALL DONE!
Hey, sounds like you’re celebrating twice!
I can’t recall the FReeper, either :-(
But.....hubby said I could get a freeze dryer!! I am SO excited.
They make a new, smaller model....with four shelves.
I can’t wait....veggies.....fruit.....steaks/beef....chicken....pet food, here I come. Wish I had the garden YOU have.
Supposedly, freeze dry keeps a lot more nutrition than canning or dehydrating.
Actually, I’m more excited about the pies being out of the way than getting a year older lol.
Oh wow. Freezer dryer is on the kids’ wish list. Is the new, smaller model also less expensive? They’re about $7,000.00 up here, last we checked.
Hi pollyshy! Nice to see you!
How many pies did you need in total? That’s a big order for you to agree to. I’m sure everybody will appreciate it, especially when they get a piece.
LOL...yes....much less!!
$7K would be, well, out of the question.
Wow.....what an incredible birthday dinner, Judy!
The creme brûlée is the ‘icing on the cake’. 😍
