Court filings obtained by DailyMail.com reveal Christine Baumgartner has so far already received $405,000 in legal, attorney, and 'forensic accounting fees' The 49-year-old, however, is demanding' a whopping award of $885,000 ($575,000 in attorney's fees and $280,000 in expert costs) to prepare for trial Estranged husband Kevin Costner's attorney Laura Wasser hit back at the request – describing the fees as 'inflated' and 'outrageous'

Kevin Costner's estranged wife Christine Baumgartner has already received more than $400,000 to pay the costs of her legal battle with the actor, DailyMail.com can reveal.

The mom-of-three is currently locked in a court fight with her ex over a fresh award of $855,000 to cover fees for the former couple's upcoming trial over whether the prenuptial agreement they signed 18 years ago can still be enforced.

Baumgartner, 49, has asked for $575,000 to pay her lawyers John Rydell and Susan Wiesner and another $280,000 for her forensic accountant Jill Bombino – which would take the combined total to an eye-watering total of $1.26million.

But documents obtained by DailyMail.com reveal Baumgartner has so far already received $405,000 in legal, attorney, and 'forensic accounting fees' – disbursed in July this year.

In an excoriating legal filing lodged in court in Santa Barbara, California, on Tuesday, Costner's attorney Laura Wasser hit back at the 'whopping' request – describing the fees as 'inflated' and saying that it would be 'unconscionable' for the Yellowstone star to be made to pay.

'Disso queen' Wasser also accused Baumgartner of being 'unreasonable' and said her constant legal maneuvers – the majority of which have failed – have inflated costs for both parties.

Can someone explain the legal reasoning (justification) behind KC being forced to pay her lawyers? Forced to pay the legal fees she racks up. Especially when his wife Christine Baumgartner initiated the divorce.

Hard for me to feel sorry for either of them, when I consider what ‘regular’ folks are going through lately.

a million dollars to costner is not exactly stressing his net worth. It’s the 300 million settlement he should be concerned about.

“Baumgartner has said she felt under pressure to sign the prenup, which awards her a $1.5 million payout in the event of the marriage ending.”

She singed it. No one begs to sign one. She has cashed in so she needs to let it go.

No contract is worth anything anymore, not today.

For years I was in a custody battle and my ex-wife had "temporary" custody (3.5 years in a child's life is a lot, so it was a stretch to call it "temporary").

You could just about make a drinking game out of how many times she asked the judge to raise the child support I was paying her because it was all going to her attorney and he still wanted more. He never raised it, though (for that reason). I eventually got broke enough to have to drop my attorney, learned enough about law to represent myself (pro se) and was better off anyway -- eventually winning custody.

With her still having an attorney for a while, the many, many court actions she stirred up the following years wound up hurting her financially instead of me (ran up her legal bills, I didn't have any). After giving her a few years to simmer down but she still didn't, I started filing my own frivolous court actions to run up her legal bills. I then had a sit down with her and her parents (mainly her mother) and told them that I did it to get their attention to what can happen. They can choose either peace and I'll be happy to work with them and encourage my kids to spend time with them, well more than the usual every other weekend. Or they can keep up the ugly and I'll make up any court action I can think of and call her attorney a lot and
do
anything
I
can
think
of
as
often
as
I
want
to
legally
drain
them
of
everything
they
have.

They eventually stopped their lawfare. I reminded them that Christ's ways encourage us to forgive and move on. And we've gotten along since.

Baumgartner’s thoughts when she was getting married to KC———

“No way am I going to be taking care of a decrepit old dude in diapers 30 years from now. I’ll just get this unfair prenup voided. Same as others have done in California.

When you check out his dating profile, I’m surprised he only got “cleaned” twice.
Lots of very expensive women on his list.
