I bought the book also. Where DID the towers go? The concrete turned to dust and did not hit the ground in large portions. I don’t know what happened, but 3 modern constructed high rises fell because of ?”fire”? The first instances in the world, and on the same day. Call me nutz, but it takes a bigger leap of faith to believe the official story than we are being lied to on a massive scale.

The fire softened the steel in the areas it was burning due to the Jet Fuel being on fire and the temperature it burns at.

It did not need to collapse the beams, what collapsed the beams on lower floors to collapse was the immense amount of weight from the upper floors dropping on them. All the beams did not collapse simultaneously, the beams collapsed as the building failed on the floor above them fell.

How much weight would 10-15 floors of the WTC center weight and what speed of descent would it take, as the floors collapsed the weight increased as more and more floors stacked up on each other and fell.

If you noticed the 2nd building hit was the first to collapse, that’s because the 2nd plane hit lower in the building and much more weight was pushing down on the weakened beams.

To me, buildings 1 and 2 collapsing like that is plausible, although over 1000 architects disagree with that.

But building 7 collapsing the way it did is preposterous.

WTC 7 basically collapsed the same way WTC 1 and 2 collapsed, as I mentioned earlier, the NYPD emergency operations center was located in the basement of WTC 7, besides generators there was diesel fuel stored there.

The collapse of WTC 1 and 2 threw debris with force into WTC 7 which resulted in fires, those fires got hot enough causing the diesel fuel in the basement to explode upwards thru the elevator shafts.

Jet Fuel and Diesel burn at higher temperatures than regular gasoline, that fire weakened the basement and lower floors of WTC 7, with all that weight pushing down, it caused the pancaking of the building similar to WTC 1 and 2.

Look at how destructive a relatively small amount of fertilizer and diesel fuel was in Oklahoma City, it’s a miracle, that building did not collapse, it would have if the damaged had been caused by a fully loaded 757 jet plane traveling at 500 mph hit it, causing the explosion.

Now before 9/11 did elements of the government know something was going to happen, I would say absolutely they did and did nothing to stop it.

What happened afterwards was certainly used to take away the freedoms of Americans and spawned two wars that not only were unnecessary but extremely expensive in terms of money and lives.

How the buildings fell is pretty straight forward and easy to understand if you can get past how much the government was involved before and after 9/11 in hiding the truth from the public. Even if the buildings didn’t collapse it would have been a horrific terrorist attack that killed a lot of Americans, and the end result would have likely been the same.

PBS's Nova had a very good show explaining why the two main towers collapsed, and how it probably could have been prevented if they were built a couple of years later, when building codes were updated to require heat insulation on the steel hangers that supported each floor.

If I remember it correctly, the main towers had "hooks" which locked in to slots running vertically along the outer edges.

Due to the intense heat of jet fuel, the hooks were softened, lost their shape, and a whole floor collapsed on to the lower one.

Then because of the excess load from the weight of the collapsed floor, more hangars bent and floors collapsed until the building's framework failed.

Sure. I would believe that. But I wonder why the thousands of people involved in the construction of the towers wouldn’t have left some testimony or evidence of this?

Handling that much explosive requires a bit of care. Where are the folks that did all that?

Actually that’s a terrible idea. For one thing any system that can be accessed legitimately can be accessed illegitimately, so wiring a building to explode while constructing is just waiting for somebody to “hack” it. And then when you think about how often office buildings have internal space demoed and remodeled you’re now just asking for accidents. Then of course you’ve got the way technology changes, just by the 1980s controlled demolition was vastly different than when WTC was built. Leaving yourself “trapped” with old technology for an eventual possible demo 30, 40, 50 years in the future would just be dumb. Plus of course rats, you’d have to revisit all your wiring anyway, so there’d be no time savings.

Charles; WTC7 Everyone can do their own evaluation, but I am going with the engineers in the NIST report and say A local fire (not camp fire) can do this.

Structural steel loses strength the longer it is heated which in this case was 7 hours. This was NOT enough to cause failure in the columns, but it WAS enough to cause expansion and deformation of the floor supports on the lower level which did. (These were fabricated Truss supports NOT solid I beams.)

Excepts from the NIST report on the collapse of WTC 7. I am going with these structural engineers and their report.

"The structural design did not explicitly evaluate fire effects, which was typical for engineering practice at that time and continues to remain so today. Many of the shear connections in WTC 7 were not capable of resisting lateral loads resulting from thermal expansion effects in the steel floor framing when the floor beams were heated."

"The ASTM E119 test does not capture critical behavior of structural systems, e.g., the effect of thermal expansion or sagging of floor beams on girders, connections, and/or columns. The thermal expansion of the WTC 7 floor beams that initiated the probable collapse sequence occurred primarily at temperatures below approximately 400 °C (750 ºF). Thus, to the extent that thermal expansion, rather than loss of structural strength, precipitates an unsafe condition, thermal expansion effects need to be evaluated. The current fire resistance rating system, which does not include thermal expansion effects, is not conservative"

WTC 7 ; The Roof structure (containing the AC cooling and sprinkler water tanks) collapses first, but the lower levels collapse is at the bottom and and progressively to the top. (WTC 1 and 2 pancaked down...fires at top.)

Note that it takes a long time to set up and initiate a controlled collapse. The wires that send the signals to the detonation charges in the explosive are running all over the place. There were fires in all three buildings but somehow the wires running to the explosive charges in 3 buildings were NOT destroyed in the heat and the explosives supposedly used were not burned or destroyed. (C4 burns...not sure about PETN or RDX). This discusses some of the explosives used to take down a CONCRETE building.
