A former Secret Service agent who was present at President John F. Kennedy's assassination has come forward with a new claim that would debunk the 'magic bullet' theory and raises questions about whether there was a second shooter.
Paul Landis, 88, broke his silence on Saturday, nearly 60 years after Kennedy was shot dead in a motorcade passing through Dallas, to share his bombshell recollection with the New York Times.
Landis, who in 1963 was a young Secret Service agent assigned to protect First Lady Jaqueline Kennedy, said that in the chaos following the shooting, he picked up a nearly pristine bullet sitting on the top of the back seat of the open limousine.
It was just behind where Kennedy was sitting when he was killed, he says. Landis says he took the projectile and placed it on the president's hospital stretcher to preserve it for the autopsy investigators.
That bullet, the first piece of evidence logged in the murder investigation, has for six decades been said to have been found on the stretcher of Texas Governor John Connally, and was hypothesized to have fallen free from a wound to his thigh.
Landis thinks the bullet may have rolled onto Connally's stretcher from Kennedy's while they were next to each other.
It has long been known as the 'magic bullet' -- the bullet that supposedly passed through Kennedy's neck from the rear, then entered Connally's right shoulder, struck his rib, exited under his right nipple, passed through his right wrist and hit his left thigh.
But Landis' assertion that it had actually exited Kennedy in his Cadillac could lay waste to the magic bullet theory - and bolster the claim that Lee Harvey Oswald did not operate alone on the day of the murder.

I remember looking out of my hotel room window... and I saw the exact view presented here. I didn’t expect that. I decided I needed a drink.
Hmm.
I see Paul Landis is selling a book that comes out October 10
A while back I watched a documentary done by Oliver Stone on JFK’s assassination. I was 16 at the time of his death. It was reported in the documentary that a certified Coroner had not been used to do the autopsy on Kennedy, but that they brought in two Navy doctors who had never conducted an autopsy before, and didn’t really have expertise with bullet wounds. I don’t know if that was factual, but it was one thing that stuck in my head after watching it.
you either believe this guy or you dont
it is that simple
He wasn’t in the Secret Service very long.
Ruth Paine and Michael Paine?
Back in the misty deeps of time a close friend worked for Bolt, Beranek and Newman, in Cambridge, MA. BBN were the people to go to for acoustic analysis of, oh, say, submarine propellers, or nuclear reactors. They were contracted in the 1970s by some federal agency or other to analyze the so-called “dictabelt recording”. Said friend, an electronics engineer, spent a couple of weeks in Dallas setting up microphones and recorders and setting off firecrackers in a myriad of locations trying to duplicate the signature that was on that dictabelt. Bottom line, the only configuration that worked included a shooter on the grassy knoll. The team submitted their report, and according to said friend they were told to destroy it and STFU. All I know, but I do know that.
Yeah.
If you tried to invent a story like this with the Paines today...it’d fall apart in seven days. 1963...people just accepted the story told by the news media.
2 in the storm runoff?
The facts developed independently over the past six decades prove that the Warren Commission report was a deep state lie. First, LBJ had the JFK limo sent to Ford the following Monday to have the windshield removed and ground up. Why? Because there was a hole from the front, indicating a shooter other than Oswald. This was documented by a deathbed sworn statement by a Ford official who did the task. Second, Gerry Ford publicly admitted 35 years later that as a member of the Commission, he had altered the autopsy photo to move the bullet in JFK’s back way up to the base of his neck to support the single bullet theory, now debunked by the Secret Service guy. Third, LBJ used as a hitman a convicted murderer, Malcolm Wallace, whose fingerprints were found on the Sixth Floor of the Texas School Book Depository. Fourth, LBJ”s swindling business associate, Billie Sol Estes, testified before a grand jury in 1985 that LBJ was responsible for ordering at least eight murders, including that of JFK. Fifth, Oswald’s coworkers at the Depository saw him calming eating lunch at the time of the assassination when he was supposed to be on the Sixth Floor. Sixth, the Kennedys planned to dump LBJ as the VP candidate given the swirl of corruption that Life Magazine intended to publish on the Monday after November 22nd. This is all documented - all you need do is tune in to the detailed videos of Mark Groubert and Eric Hunley, freely accessible on Youtube.
Pauses ... in mid-air, mind you
I’m finding it hard to GAS. JFK is still dead.
One interesting observation about the assassination is that when JFK was shot, Jacqueline tried to leave the vehicle by crawling over the seat and over the back. She didn’t try opening the door and getting out.
It is natural to move in the most direct away from the person trying to kill you.
It suggests that one of the bullets may have come from the front seat, possibly the agent who was the passenger.
I tend to agree.
And it sounds like he never corrected the version of events until now...
Unless he was warned not to do so...
“I wonder if the deep state did Kennedy in?”
That used to be my #2 opinion. (The mob option was #1.) After the last five years Deep State, emphasis on CIA, has moved up a notch.
“What difference, at this point, does it make?” Knowing the truth won’t change anything for us now, and it doesn’t have the potential to take America back to where it should be.
“a documentary done by Oliver Stone on JFK’s assassination.”
That was a good movie, with a good cast. True? Who knows? At least it was entertaining.
The story I heard was that she was trying to retrieve a piece of his brain 🧠 that had been blown out by the head shot and it landed on the trunk lid.
“1963...people just accepted the story told by the news media.”
As if people/sheeple don’t do that in 2020-2023?
