"Free thought" is a philosophical viewpoint which holds that positions regarding truth should be formed on the basis of logic, reason, and empiricism, rather than authority, tradition, revelation, or dogma.
When you are awake, you are able to clearly see.
The choice is yours, and yours alone.
Trust and put faith in yourself.

OK, an update to yesterday's Russian Navy ping.
It is looking like both the Rapucha and the Kilo submarine were extensively damaged. They will NOT be back in service soon. There is no estimate as to when, if ever.
The Rapucha was identified as the Minsk which entered the Black Sea from the Baltic Fleet just before the invasion of Ukraine. The Kilo submarine was identified as the Rostov-on-Don.
The bigger item is that the vessels were in regular and NOT a floating dry docks (plural) as I noted yesterday. I have not seen any estimates on damage to the docks. It looks like anything in the open near the dry docks was significantly damaged if not destroyed.
Having TWO dry docks out of commission for an extended period of time might be a greater loss than the two warships.
In March of 1942 the British launched Operation Chariot, the raid on the Normandie dry dock in St. Nazaire, France. This was undertaken since that dry dock was the only one on the Atlantic coast of France capable of repairing the Battleship Tirpitz.
HMS As part of the raid, the British stuffed HMS Campbeltown (I42), the former USS Buchanan (DD-131) with four tons of amatol explosive and sent it to ram the dry dock caisson. Campbeltown had been modified to resemble a German destroyer and lightened so that it could pass over the sand bars at the entrance to the harbor.

The raid was an unqualified, if costly, success. Of the 612 men of the Royal Navy and commandos who took part in the raid, only 228 men returned to England. Five commandos escaped via neutral Spain and Gibraltar with the help of French citizens and took a ship to England; 169 men were killed (105 RN and 64 commandos) and another 215 became prisoners of war (106 RN and 109 commandos).
There were 89 decorations given. Five were Victoria Crosses. The Normandie dry dock was out of commission until 1948. The success of Operation Chariot was one of the reasons why the Tirpitz never tried to break out into the Atlantic to attack Allied convoys.
