A fan was kicked out of Arthur Ashe Stadium in the early hours of Tuesday morning after Alexander Zverev claimed the man said “the most famous Hitler phrase there is.”
While the German star emerged victorious after beating Jannik Sinner in five sets to land himself a spot in the quarter-final, the match wasn’t without controversy.
As the pair were locked 2-2 in the fourth set, Zverev couldn’t take it anymore and stormed over to the chair umpire to complain about the fan’s shocking remark. “It’s unacceptable,” Zverev, 26, told umpire James Keothavong, who instantly turned around to ask the fan to reveal themselves.

Deutschland über alles is from a song written before Hitler was born.
Did he say, “Let’s Go, Brandon!” ? LOL!
DILLY! DILLY! ?....................
“Ach! Wo ist mein Schnitzel?” He was often heard saying. So yeah, that would get a fan in trouble.
It’s still the German national anthem.
I have been watching the matches. The NY Fans are obnoxious slobs.
yawn. BFD.
Deutschland, Deutschland, over everything
Over every other land
When for freedom and for liberty
We together always stand
From the Meuse to the Memel
From the Adige to the Band
Deutschland, Deutschland, before everything
Before every other land
German women, German fealty
German wine, and German song
Will for generations coming
Be remembered far and long
And inspire us, to greater deeds
For our land, our legacy!
German women, German fealty
German wine, and German song
Justice, freedom, and our unity
For the German Fatherland!
Let us strive for these together
Brotherly with heart and hand
For our liberty, justice, and unity
Let our pledge, of fortune be!
Flourish in the grace of divinity
Flourish German Fatherland
The chicklet appears to have spectacular, uh, legs.
Was the fan rooting for or against the guy?
That’s an English translation; the real lyrics are (wait for it!)
auf Deutsch. 😏
Closed door meetings with him were a real gas.
Maybe he was talking about his friend Zeke Hale?
“Famous Hitler phrase”? He’s the only one who said it? I’ll bet Hitler used the word “und” a lot. Is that a “famous Hitler word” and would get me kicked out of the US Open?
regardless of what was said he has the right to say it, could lead to an interesting law suite.
Ein Re1ch, Ein V0lk, Ein F——r?
I see Nothing ?
I thought Hitler’s most famous phrase was, “Ein Volk, ein Reich, ein Fuhrer.”
Closely followed by, “There’s nothing to worry about. The Allies are just a bunch of girly men.”
“My dog has no nose.”
“How does he smell?”
“Awful!”
I thought Hitler’s favorite saying was “That carpet tasted great”. Some of his generals called him Teppichfresser “carpet chewer”
And snobs
